In another post about embossing, I posted that i wanted to make the placecards below but didn’t know how to make the sand dollars /starfish on the cards. I contacted the wedding coordinator who posted the pics on her blog and asked her if she could put me in contact with the bride. She was my wedding coordinator when I was planning my destination wedding so it wasn’t totally random. She said she was almost 100% sure that the bride used a paper punch.
I did a little research, printed out the pictures and dragged Fiance to Hobby Lobby armed with 2 40% coupons. It ended up being the Martha Sewart double punch sand dollar/ starfish and some glitter paper. I got some glue pens, 4 sheets of glitter paper which were 50% off, an ink pad for our personalized calligraphy stamp from etsy, and some double sided tape to mount our invites to pocketfolds. I got the punch from Michaels using a 40% coupon because Hobby Lobby didn’t have it.
My colors are fuschia and orange and here’s what the punchouts look like:
Here are the placecards I want to make changing the colors of course. The starfish and sand dollars are from the Chrsitams Tree Shoppes and are made of resin they’re not real. I’m excited about my first foray into the DIY / craft world! LOL

I haven’t made them yet those are my inspiration pics! All I did was the orange and pink punches hahahahaha 🙂 I have 4 sheets of glitter paper which is probably overkill but it was 50% at Hobby Lobby and we took a special trip out there, its not nearby. So I may sprinkle the rest of the cutouts on the tables as confetti decorations or something.
More DIY stuff: Going to spray paint the Ikea Tolsby frames with Valspar Stone Santa Fe Sand spray paint that I bought at Lowes that gives it that sandy stone look for my table numbers/names. Like I dipped the frames in sand LOL. Testing it out today! I bought a tarp at Ikea for $5 for my spray paint projects. Also bought a 50lb bag of play sand from Lowes for my sand boxes to put the placecards in and for the centerpieces.

How did the spray painting go? I’m having a beach wedding and I’m doing something similar to your place cards, although I don’t think I’m going to go for the punches too. Then I’m likely going to use the ikea frames as well that everyone loves, either for table numbers, or, more likely, the menu.
