Since your wedding is in December, may I suggest a panne velvet?  It doesn’t wrinkle like regular velvet, is much more child friendly, and is highly appropriate for the season!  And I’ve seen cute dresses for children that had a panne velvet bodice and then a chiffon or tulle skirt, sort of the best of everything 🙂

I have to agree with the bees that mentioned tulle.  My niece wore a tulle dress and as the night wore on, it just got more and more poofy~it looked adorable.
