I would still consider this a wedding dress, they’re not all white or ivory… theres alot of champaign colored gowns!

@ccantics:  Oh thank you! That’s funny you had it on pinterest. I got the last one, but it is a size larger so I am waiting until closer to the date to get alterations.

Here is an idea of what it looks like on me, but too big.

I LOVE this thread. I’m currently in the search for a dress that isn’t too “bridal”. I would also love to have some color incorporated.  The material and the poofiness used in a lot of bridal dresses don’t really go with my concept. Also, I do NOT want to spend tons on a dress I am only wearing once. I have room in my budget for it, but it’s just a personal choice. If someone was paying for my dress, I would still feel the same way. With that said, here is my top contendor at the moment (although it has no color), tell me what you think!

I wouldn’t have known that wasn’t a wedding dress. There are a lot of different types of wedding dresses out there, ya know. I’m not sure the route I’ll take yet concerning a dress, but I’ve considered buying a white/cream colored long dress that’s just in a store – not really meant to be a wedding dress.

@LuluInLove:  Probably not, I’m checking out hairpieces and fascinators on etsy. When we do the accessory fitting and whatever, I’ll try on veils to see if there’s anything I like just to make sure I’m not missing out 😉

Btw, I really like that one you picked out! If you have a Nordstrom wedding suite near you, check it out – they have a lot of non-traditional dresses that are perfect for a wedding.

@SillyStacey – That dress is incredible! I remember coming across it on Etsy a few months ago and thinking about how gorgeous it is – but unfortunately I have more junk in my trunk, and the style needs a more slender body like yours. You look stunning in it!
