Ouch.

I’m sorry that woman said that to you. She sounds like a real bitch. I know those types of comments hurt, because it’s essentially saying that

1. We’re a bitch and controlling
2. Our men have no spines

I haven’t experienced any comments like that with my current man, but with my first love, I got that all the time, and it drove me up the wall. I didn’t know what to say except, “Well, I’m sorry that you are completely unaware of the nature of our relationship and feel the need to judge us.” It’s easy to get angry and desperately want to defend our/our man’s honor, but at the end of the day, we can only let it go. 🙁

Just appreciate that you have a wonderful man, and she’s just a bitter lady.

@Loribeth:  It’s alright. It’s easy to get defensive when it comes to something so personal like our relationships. It’s natural to want to protect those we love! 🙂
