I got my finance a personalized cake topper, and I am going to surprise him with it when they bring the cake out!

I originally planned on getting Fiance a dirt bike (crazy, I know). He always wanted one and it would absolutely mean the world to him but I don’t think we’re going to have the money for me to spend that much on his wedding day gift now. As much as I would love to, the dirtbike would be almost as much as our Honeymoon and I would rather not completely drain our bank account on some toy. Instead, I’m planning on getting him this pair of fancy headphones that he’s wanted. They’re much more practical and affordable than the dirtbike.

I got him a watch.  Zales was having a 40% off sale on Movado and he needed a decent watch.

I’m doing a groom cake but that’s not really a gift I guess. Does he have any hobby so you can gift him an experience like tickets to a sporting event?

I’m attempting to get in touch with his childhood hero, Cubs player Ryne Sandberg.

He’s since retired and is the manager for a minor league team in Philly. They have a game the day of our wedding.. but I’m hoping for possibly a phone call the day of, or maybe even a letter that I can give him.

It may not be possible.. but I know it would mean the world to him if I could pull it off!!

I just ordered him this Movado watch that he’s obsessed with.  I don’t know how I’m going to hide it when he sees how much smaller my bank account is–he’s probably going to think I blew the budget on honeymoon clothes!

Fiance is big into hunting and fishing.  He has about 6 hunting rifles.  He has always wanted his own pistol though.  I was trying to think of things that he would be like “Whoa- this is great!”  So a pistol it is.  (We have a gun safe in the house- so we will be safe!)  But I want to put something on the card of “now you can really protect me” or something similar to that.

He has no clue and I think he will be very excited!

@thefuturemrsrowe: along the same lines, I’m trying to pull something off with Aaron Rodgers of the GB Packers for Fiance

I also bought him some engraved cufflinks, a tie clip, a swiss army knife, and a sampler of Jamison scotch.

@ninerz113 It may be worth it to try though his booking agent if all else fails. They book all of their public appearances, usually $5k+, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed that if I do end up having to pay, it’s not ridiculous just to get a phone call.

If you want something for your new place what about a nice framed picture of his favorite sports team or sports figure?
