My cousin and I took our Grandma to a pumpkin patch today for a day out. It was the first time seeing her since I’ve been engaged. She asked if we had a wedding band picked out yet, and I said no– she then took off one of her rings and gave it to me and asked me if i wanted it. The diamonds have been in the family for 100+ years. I cried so hard! I’m not sure if ill leave it as is or change it, but it just means so much to have a piece of family jewelry as part of the day.
lol excuse the ugly bandaid in the pic, i broke a nail! lol

OH MY GOD!! I love it!!!! I am wearing my grandma’s band as my something old and hopefully she’ll just give it to me because it means so much. My grandma who I originally wanted to marry me passed away about 7 years ago and I wanted a piece of him with me.

Beautiful! I love old diamonds! I have a RHR that my husband had custom made for me with my great grandmother’s old miner’s cut diamond. I love to look at it and think about all the places it’s been! Congratulations on getting such a special piece of jewelery. One day you can pass it down to your granddaughter!

thank you everyone for your nice comments! One thing the pic doesn’t show is that teh diamonds are all slightly different cuts, while i don tmind and would rather have an imperfect family heirloom any day of the week, i still want to see if theres anything i can do to add some continuity to the stones. Has anyone experienced anything like this before and have any ideas?
