No way … omg I was all over the net looking at things for our wedding… probably 4 most before we were engaged

that’s what this site is for … so we don’t look crazy to everyone in our everyday lives

I like looking at what is out there and the DIY projects that everyone has done.  My vision over the past few months has evolved and now I’m happy with what is in my head completely.  If I didn’t think about it until the engagement I might have gone with some of my first plans and that would just make me sad now, lol.

I have looked at Pintrest to get ideas. price shopped online for dresses and have a working word doc at work that has our guest list, invite mock-up and a naration of the ceremony.

I have stopped looking at rings because that is his job now.

I had a pinterest board, but it had maybe 15 pins on it. Now it has over 500 haha.

Well according to my SO we are “pre-engaged”, he even told my whole family that we found the venue already. So I’ve done a little bit of preplanning already, like finding the venue with my SO and figuring out a rough budget for how much stuff costs. Plus I know it is coming by January 1st, so my wait won’t be much longer. :

I’m totally wedding crazy and have spent the whole day planning with my Bridesmaid, we’ve picked her dress and shoes. She’s like a little sister to me and the coolest thing is I wasn’t gonna bring any wedding stuff up…she said she dreamt that my SO had proposed. Fast forward a few hours and we made a wedding journal and a moodboard. It was the coolest day ever and she’s the first person to see my engagement ring and she loves it.

If my SO ever saw my pinterest, he’d probably lock me in a closet!!

He knows I’ve thought about things….knows I want an ourdoor ceremony, (he said it has to be cool/cold outside though) agrees to my color scheme, said “I can do that” when I told him I wanted him/groomsmen to wear beige/tan slacks and vests instead of a suit….

But I am currently waiting…I cant imagine putting money towards anything or trying on dresses without the ring

I think to each his own, but I didn’t do anything until I was firmly engaged and the ring was on my finger…..the only real reason is that I’m not a big DIY’er, or someone who dreamt of what her wedding might be like so it just didn’t really occur to me.  Also, my Fiance is super laid back and if I would have started in with wedding stuff pre-engagement, he probably would have ran for the hills…hehe!  And I guess, if I really think about it, I had two roommates who were absolutely obsessed with getting married.  They knew the venue, the caterer, even subscribed to wedding magazines….and they ended up breaking up, not getting engaged ๐Ÿ™  Which is most definitely the exception, not the rule………..and of course, you guys are the experts on your relationships, and when you know you have the One, you just know ๐Ÿ™‚

My advice is I guess to just take it a day at a time, be thankful that you’ve found a wonderful, loving partner and keep your eye out for cute ideas, but don’t make it a huge priority or it will cause you more anixiety than it’s worth….and know when it happens, it’s the right time for you.  Then you can fully dive in to the wedding planning and have a great time doing it…good luck!! ๐Ÿ™‚
