Craziness. I’ve never actually shopped on black friday.. Never seemed like a great idea to me. I worked a split shift at my job today, (retail) and people were so rude, our store was DEMOLISHED. I think the whole thing is a little ridiculous.

The stores could set this up so this stuff doesn’t happen, but I think they love the publicity.

Wow. Around about :30, I was reminded of the process of decomposition a whale’s body goes through: the palette of products was the whale, and the people reaching in and pulling the smartphones out were those creepy hag fish that eat holes into the whale’s flesh.

Not that far off.

Dry-foods in a post-apocolyptic movie, for sure.

@Mrs. Mink:  I sooo agree. I went to both Walmart and Target and it was 2 difference scenes. Walmart was like a zoo while Target was very well staff and Organized.

I couldn’t even finish the video. It makes me sick. Thank goodness for Black Friday ONLINE SHOPPING deals!

Actually Walmart set things up much better this year… usually this chaos happens around the dvd area but they made everyone wait in a line and filtered people in 20 at a time to browse and get what they wanted without fighting, falling or having movies get broken in the mix. I was very pleased with how smooth this year went at Walmart.

Also the staff was so friendly, they had stands set up for help finding the items, they had police stationed around the store too. Now Best Buy was a joke as was Target!! Best Buy was looking the other way as people jumped the line right before they handed out tickets and Targets staff was rude, unhelpful and they definitely needed more people around to answer questions.

The video was taken at Walmart. Yours might have beset organized, but some obviously weren’t!

I just don’t get the hype. This was over a pay-as-you-go phone!

I just can’t imagine what other countries think of us after seeing stuff like this, seriously embarrassing!

@Mrs. Mink:  Most of them were set up better this year. I don’t know where that was but you always get some people who ruin it for everyone. I have a pay as you go Virgin Mobile phone. The nicer ones are expensive, like the $600 iPhone pay as you go. If they had a huge price break I can see it being a huge deal and huge door buster but this same thing happens a lot of places for a lot of different items.

I’m clearly just not into this whole thing.

i don’t think you can say how things were at Walmart, Target, and Best Buy around the country based on you experiences in one city Or town.  There are always stories about problems like this. The Washington Post had a photo essay about Black Fridaysoppers today. It was sad.

@Mrs. Mink:  Obviously I was talking about my town… Just like that video was in 1 town. However we did go to 5 towns between yesterday and today and I didn’t see chaos like this anywhere actually. We went to 6 different door busters too. I guess I just live in a really great area.
