My mother, 2 sisters and my brother are all coeliac (I should probably get tested too) and I think I might get cupcakes – that way I can get some gluten free ones. Unfortunately my little sis is also vegan, so she may have to go without cake, but ill make sure there’s other things she can eat.

Not all gluten free cakes are gross – there’s a coffee shop in Dublin which sells the most amazing flour less orange and lemon cakes, which I always pick instead of the noncoeliac options. If a baker says they can’t make nice gluten free cakes then its probably more due to a lack of ability on their part.

That is lazy and ridiculous of them to say that! That kind of attitude really annoys me, its like we are inconveniencing them with out allergy – hello! i didnt choose to ce celiac people. anyway, I would just provide them with a recipe that you like in that case for them to follow since they seem unable to make a tasty Girlfriend cake on their own. I have a recipe for an amazing apple and pistchio cake (super moist as well) and it was the first to sell out at a recept bake sale at work. Everyone LOVED it and I am not in any way a gifted baker.

More than happy to send you the recipe if you want?

Also we are having a fully Girlfriend cake at our wedding and there will be Girlfriend options for dinner and cocktail hour as well Even though i am the only celiac at the wedding but i am so sensitive that we didnt want to take any chances of cross contamination. We are doing jelly beans in our wedding colours for favours.

The bakers you contacted werent too bright then lol, My fiance is a baker and does Girlfriend baking. He makes the most nomlicious cakes and cupcakes and cookies. It tastes just as good (and in my opinion better) than regular cake, you just need to know how to substitute the ingredients
