What type of songs are you thinking?

We are having our soloist sing:

On Eagles Wings
When You Say Nothing At All – Allison Krause
I Could Not Ask for More – Sara Evans

Though, she also suggested some of these songs that she has sung at previous weddings.

A Moment Like This – American Idol
Valentine – Jim Brickman
I’ll Be – Edwin McCain
From This Moment On – Shania Twain

Our soloist is singing these songs before the processional/ceremony starts, but I’ve also been to a wedding where "When You Say Nothing At All" was sung during the ceremony.

Good Luck!

@LaurenEB — I had to comment because last night Fiance said "Well they have to play On Eagles Wings" and I burst out laughing. I always associate it with funerals I guess. But then after your post I saw that the words really do speak to a wedding as well. I don’t think we will play it as I don’t think I can break away from the "funeral" stigma but at least now I should go tell Fiance he was right that it works for weddings. I hate it when he’s right.

What about a standard like Amazing Grace or the musical version of the Our Father or something like that?

One’s I considered:

I have loved you (it’s based on a psalm)

or

Make me a channel of your peace

My sister sang "Gentle Woman" for my wedding.

@GaBGal – Ha ha, I hate it when that happens, but I’m sure he’ll be happy to know he’s right!  Actually I thought the same thing.  I had only heard it at funerals until last year.  It is one of my favorite songs and when I finally "listened" to the lyrics, I thought they were fitting for a wedding.  When the organist at our church played it as an option, it was a must for us, just a matter of what part of mass to sing it during.

The soloist is singing "when you say nothing at all" during the ceremony.  I want her to sing another song.  I am just not sure what, so I was very happy to see this post.
