A friend of mine told me of the sweetest idea today that I had to share with you. Her grandparents have been together for almost 60 years. Her grandmother made the comment how much their hands have changed throughout the years as they’ve grown old together. So my friend and her husband are starting a new tradition of a ‘Hand Album’. Every year on their anniversary, or on any special occasion they are going to take pictures of their hands together so that they will be able to see throughout the years how there hands have aged, together. All these pictures will go into an album.
Maybe it’s the silly hormones in me raging, but I thought it was just the sweetest idea!

personally, this seems a little too weird for me. but i could see how this could be a cute and meaningful tradition! it reminds me in some ceremonies where the officiant says, “look at each other’s hands because these are the same hands you will be looking at in 50 years” or whatever, which is so sweet.

@kitzy: I thought it might be a little painstaking to do this every year, but maybe on big landmarks, 5 years, 10, 20, 50…all the big ones where you could really see the difference!
And that quote is very sweet!

That reminds me of the hand ceremony. I love that. It is so sweet. Kind of like the picture they always take of your rings at weddings.
