Lately I’ve been a big debbie downer… but over this last week Fiance has really stepped up to the plate and shown we’re on the same page.
Last night I came home from work (13 hours) and he had tried to run me a bath and was so upset because our pipes were frozen and there wasn’t enough hot water (we don’t live in olden times, but winter sucks and the first few weeks of cold seem to screw with our house alot).
He had gone grocery shopping for all my favorites. Earlier that day he also stood up to his mom to sort out the fact that our date night would still be on, despite her last minute expectations of us to attend a “birthday party” or wahtever for his sister.
I finally feel like we’re a team and he’s been putting such an effort in. It’s good to feel like we’re working togther instead of against each other, especially now that I have a second job and really need the extra support at home.
So yay! I’m a happy bee. We’ve also decided we probably won’t get married in a Catholic church anymore, and it’s just not for us. We’re now looking at the United Church where my aunt is a minister, and/or the nature museum.
I finally feel relieved like it’s really our wedding and I don’t need to worry about his parents (He actually said he doesn’t care if his mom will be upset we don’t get married in a church, it’s not her wedding)… I almost did cartwheels!
