I’ve learned my lesson on buying real estate or making any sort of large financial purchase with a boyfriend, so I vote that the wedding comes first. Though I abhor the idea of overblown, expensive weddings. Where I live, that sort of thing is very prevalent. To me, it’s less an issue of money than of commitment. Make a lifelong commitment to each other THEN think about entering into real estate contracts and merging bank accounts. That’s just a live-and-learn thing for me. First things first and that’s deciding to spend our lives together and under the law.
Wedding. But I don’t think I ever want to own a house. It seems like far more trouble than it’s worth…one of those things people do because it’s the American Dream, but then it ties you down and comes with all kinds of inconveniences and hidden costs.
