I am IN LOVE with Demetrios’ 1429. http://www.demetriosbride.com/index.php?page=details&styleID=42
My question is this: The dress is lace, with a layer of sequined fabric directly underneath the top layer of lace. The sequins seem softer in shine and sparkle than most sequins and look gorgeous in real life…but I’m wondering how it will look in professional photographs. Will the light reflect off the sequins and take away ftom the lace? Have any of you worn a dress similar to this? How did your pictures turn out?

I was in love with Casablanca 1900 for a while, which has a nice tulley/gauzey overlay with lace and sequins…and I regretfully inform you that it does not look good in photographs taken by non-professionals. This is, of course, an opinion. However, I chose to get a dress I thought looked good in iPhone pictures, since I know many of my guests will take such photos and publish them without my consent. I already have to deal with them posting horrible pictures of me, so at least I can ensure my dress will look fabulous!

My dress had sequins sewn in with the lace and it didn’t really pick up in professional pics. It was a little more visible in guest pics but even then it was really only something that showed up in person.

Come on, Hive, I need your help!

Sorry but I have to agree … it is not going to photograph the way you want it to. I also tried on similar type dresses and thought the same thing. When I looked at other brides pics professional and non professional it really doesn’t do the dress justice!

My dress was covered in sequins and little beads on top of the lace.. in teh professional potos you don’t see it at all… it’s rare that I have a picture where youcan see them sparkle! You can see in the first photo you see no sparkle at all and in the second photo I’m standing in the background and you can see a bit of sparkle on my dress. I personally saw no difference between professional and non-professional photos. I’m hard pressed to find a picture where you can see the sparkle at all.

Thank you, everyone! I don’t mind if the sparkle doesn’t come through in photos. If the sparkle did come through in photos and overpowered the beautiful lace-work, then I would be one sad lady! You guys have reassured me that all will be okay 🙂
@stargurl101: Beautiful dress! Love the lace, how divine!
