I really like the shape at the bottom of the dress in the last pic. I found it was difficult to find a dress with the right shape/volume/ style on the bottom for me. Many of the dresses I tried on I wanted pinned for a closer shape.

I had my dress altered from A line to be tighter on my hips and slightly lower, it was what looked best.  have them pin the dress when you go to alterations to find the most slimming fit!

Do you have any pictures of a fot and flare silhouette on your body shape? I am asking bc you have a large chest so I am wondering if it would be flattering or make you look top heavy.

Please do not take offense bc I am also heavy chested and most mermaid or more fitted silhouettes would not work on me. There have been bees who have had dresses like yours altered into the shape you like. Maybe they will chime in….

I love the fit of your dress on you as it is right now 🙂  Are you going with the blue sash or the red?

Who made that dress with the flowers, the second of the inspiration pictures you posted??  So unique.

Need to see you in that style first before I could vote.

Hmmm, can you take it and get it pinned how you want it and take some pictures? Or at least see how you like it?

Is it possible for you to try a mermaid fit and flare slip on under it first?

@inle:  this has absolutely nothing to do with your post, but I am excited because my dress is behind you the right in your first pic. Haha

I myself am considering making my “column” dress into more of a mermaid stylYou you can kind of tell in the pic, but it does nip in slightly around the thigh, I may ask them to exaggerate that more.

I think the dress looks good as is. If you have it taken in I would also get a fit n flare slip to create the proper shape
