🙁

I know exactly where you are coming from. Sample conversation this weekend:

Me: I like these earrings, they’re $400.00 though. And I had budgeted for about $300 for all my jewellery.

Mom: Forget your budget, spend whatever you want. I like the diamond earrings Kate Middleton wore.

Future Mother-In-Law: You should get your jewellery from the dollar store.

Talk about dealing with opposing sides of the spectrum!

I have learned that the best solution lies somewhere in the middle. And that middle is ALONE, by myself, without the influence of the Mom’s. I’m not going to go nuts over your suggested budget of $100K because that’s the norm for that area and if that’s your norm, then that is okay with you. Are you okay with spending that money? It doesn’t sound like it and like a PP stated, you probably know in your heart of hearts what your wedding should be like and what you want for your big day. Best of luck!

Wow sounds like a dream 100K-50K! We are trying to stay at 15k!

As for family the best adive that was given to me during my struggle with family is “you are an adult, do what you think is best for you. The day of the wedding no one will rememeber anyways”

Stay strong and plan you wedding they way YOU want…if when you have ordered everything you want and need its 20k, great! and ifs its closer to 50k who cares you got what you dreamed of!
