Your numbers are high and they are increasing. That is a positive. Relax and enjoy being pregnant, I know it’s hard.

jessicaxo11 :  ok so first there isnt a rule-  you can’t guarantee anything based on numbers. But they say generally it needs to be 60% over 72 hours.  The doubling in 2 days doesn’t necessarily matter. A friend of mine was a less than 40% rise over 72 hours and she has a 2.5 year old now. I’ve been on both sides. My very first pregnancy was 58% in 3 days and it was not viable. Second pregnancy was doubling in less than 2 days and he is 4 now. Third pregnancy was IVF and it was around 60% in just over 2 days. I was having a heart attack but he turns 1 in a couple weeks. All that to say your numbers seem great. They are nearly at 60% and it hasn’t even been 48 hours so that is definitely a good sign. Try to hang in there!

You can check your numbers against http://www.betabase.info

Also after a certain point, they don’t double but still increase.

Those numbers look great! I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to worry. My numbers actually decreased at one point – and I just dropped the result of that pregnancy off at my mom’s so my husband and I can have a weekend away ๐Ÿ™‚

I’ve had a loss too so I get where you are coming from, but your numbers look good to me.

jessicaxo11 :  I was in your exact same spot with the HCG numbers earlier in this pregnancy (38 weeks!). my idiot doctor basically prepared me for miscarriage when in fact she was wrong about that doubling rule. First of all, 5 weeks 5 days is kind of late to get betas tested. I’ve heard after 10,000 they’re practically invalid. They do not need to double in 48 hours. If you do the math your body would be at like a million HCG when actually it caps off at 250,000. When I pressed the nurse on this she couldn’t even explain. Second of all 11k is really good for 5w!!! My numbers doubled after like four or five days and my little babe looks perfect.

The 48 hour doubling rule is not applicable after a certain point. Rest easy! ! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

As pp said, once your numbers get to a certain level, the doubling rate slows down, and your numbers are quite high so I think you’re past that point. Once HCG gets to around 10k, you should be able to see a heartbeat on an ultrasound, so ultrasound should be used to determine viability, not HCG. Does your doctor plan to schedule an ultrasound soon?
