I just got thinking, after having just seen the “Have you ever been told you’re too young to get married?” thread, and I thought to myself that life is too short to be told what to do in your life. I’m 24, and Fiance is 24, and we will be 25 when we are married. But you know what? Whether that’s too young, or too old (in some cultures), I really don’t care, and no bride should. So, ladies, if you’re feeling down because of something someone said, just ignore it. It’s YOUR life. Not theirs. Goodnight y’all. (: PS- Just was thinking this and wanted to maybe cheer someone up. No debates needed here. Thanks! (:

Agreed! Especially since I always get some kind of comment along those lines (but the other way as in “by your age I had all my kids” or “well don’t wait too long there’s always going to be something happening in life” or “so are you ever going to have kids”) from my grandmother every time I see her – when I am 26 (yes almost 27 but don’t consider that too old) and We just got engaged in February and are looking for a venue for next fall…. didn’t think that was THAT long…. and yes gma, sorry but I’d like us to be married before we start a family – he’s still in school….. Oih. Always someone 🙂

FtrMrsStein15: Haha jeez 26, have some babies already you old lady! (I hope my sarcasm was obvious there… lol!)
See you can’t win! I agree alpinebride: we’re all on our own timeline, I don’t know why people feel the need to be so opinionated! We haven’t had any comments about our age (we’ll be 26 & 27 when the wedding comes around next March) but if we did i’d be happy to tell those people their opinions weren’t needed here!
Spread the love peeps 🙂

Miss_E_xx: It was haha and hey – I will be happy to start trying to pop babies out once we’re married – but dangit I want that piece of paper first! lol
I agree, let’s all just enjoy and be happy – and like her I just smile and point out all the things I’ve been able to do since I waited til was ripe old lady age to do these things 🙂 Enjoy your time too!

FtrMrsStein15: Yep I got that too – except I’m now 30 and Fiance and I have waited 10 years! We’ll be getting married on our ten year anniversary 🙂
Someone did tell me I was too young to get married – I think she was joking though… 🙁
I wish we had gotten married earlier, but this is how it’s ended up. Can’t worry about it now!

alpinebride: Exactly how I am feeling regarding people carrying on about us having children lately… Dammit I am 24, he is 28. Yes we have been married 2 and a half years and yes we are just finishing up the process of buying a house, but I am about to start a phd… Don’t like that you don’t have grandkids yet, not my problem and stop trying to name my future kids before they even thought of… And I’m not talking suggestions, I am being told what they should be named…
