- Wedding: January 2011
So my hubby Mr. Mountain and I have been married for a month now. I’m slowly settling into life as a wifey and loving it. We lived together since before we were married but for some reason things feel different. Maybe it’s the pile of wedding present sitting on my table, the shiny rigns on both our fingers and my new last name….
So my new passion in life is my slow cooker. Mr. Mt. and I work evenings him from 12-8 and me the 3-11 so dinner time can be difficult. I love to cook, but it’s difficult to make dinner for him when I’m working. Bring in the slow cooker. We spend our mornings together and I’ve learned the joy of prepping his dinner in the crock pot before I go to work. I feel good knowing when he comes home he can serve himself a delicious home cooked meal.
Today’s meal? A crock pot roast beef with thyme-garlic gravy.
I put a boneless chuck roast in the crock pot after browning it. Then I added some flour and tomato paste into the pan, deglazed the pan with white wine and added some Worcestershire sauce and some beef stock. In the crock pot I put the cut of meat in the pot with the onions and the sazon. I poured the broth mixture into the crock pot and threw the lid on…done. Dinner smells delicous!
