You should probably talk to your doctor and see if you can get a medication to increase gastric motility (to help things move down the pipe instead of up your esophagus). I know there are a few pregnancy safe ones to try, so you can keep hydrated more easily.

You should definitely call your doctor. I had wicked bad heartburn at the end but not quite this bad. They should be able to give you a prescription heartburn medication and hopefully that will help. In the meantime I found that liquid Maalox worked better than any of the other OTC meds.

Good luck!

Oh sweetie! I’m so sorry. This definitely needs to be brought to the attention to your doctor as it can cause a lot of damage to your throat and is definitely dehydrating you.

I have the exact same problem! Sometimes it’s not SO bad, but other times, any time I take one sip or bite of anything, I need to take another Tums (or Maalox or whatever- I find that Maalox works better but sometimes the taste and consistency makes me gag).

My doc gave me a Zantac prescription, and that seems to be helping. Definitely call your OB- mine said that if it’s this bad, it’s beyond what I should be treating with just Tums.
