I’m new to the Bee, and to board posting as well, so I’m a little slow on the lingo & catching up on everything. Finding this to be a great resource & having fun relating to everyone’s stories/questions/issues!
We’re getting married at the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. We’re originally from New England, so we’re making it a fun destination wedding for our family & friends. We’ve booked the place, photographer & I found my dress! (phew!) I’d love any recommendations for additonal vendors, experiences, things to do, or just to say hi!
Specifically, I need help with officiants & DJ’s – any suggestions?
If anyone needs any creative ideas, I went to school for & have many years of event planning experience, so feel free to touch base!
Thank you so much!
PS. I’ve attached a picture of my dress & my color scheme 🙂

I am doing a destination wedding in Winter Park. Actually, the Stanley Hotel was my original first choice until I found my venue. I used to vacation in Estes Park every summer and the Stanley was my favorite stop. Oddly, enough when we were thinking about the Stanley my theme was damask and red! I loved, love, loved the library room. It felt to warm and cozy. Make sure to take the haunted house tour!
As for recommendations for officiants, try Mindful Marriage Consultants http://www.mindfulcarriageconsultants.com. I spoke with about 10 officiants and it is amazing how expensive they are. Gabrielle at MMC has very reasonable packages, will travel, and is allowing me to write our own ceremony to save money.
If you need any other vendor recommendations let me know. Also, if you find someone you love, share that with all the colorado girls as well. I’m still on a search for hair/makeup for the day of.
I was also an event planner for several years. It is kinda creep how much we have in common 🙂

Hiya and CONGRATS!!!!!
I’m getting married at Taharaa Mountain Lodge in Estes!
Our officiant is Pastor Manon Webber at Happy Feet Weddings in Loveland, and she is just wonderful. http://www.happyfeetweddings.com/
Our DJ is Leonard Kiel from Colorado Sound – he doesn’t have a website but you can find him on the Estes Park Wedding Association Website – http://www.estesparkweddings.com/music.php
Which is a great website in general.
Flowers we went with Brigette of Floral Designs of Europe http://www.fdofeurope.com/ and she is just lovely. We met with a TON – like every single florist in the Estes Park and Boulder area – and she was the only one who really got our vision and a quote to us ASAP.
If you have any other questions or anything just let me know I’d be more than happy to help! AND CONGRATS AGAIN!!!!

Congrats! I live in the Denver area and am getting married just south of Estes Park. I love, love, LOVE the Stanley. I’m hoping to take my bridesmaids there for a ghost tour a couple days before the wedding!
My DJ is Jay Kacik, who has been absolutely wonderful so far – http://www.srodj.com/
For flowers, I went with Boulder Blooms, but I did speak with Brigitte of Floral Design of Europe. She seemed amazing. Boulder Blooms seemed to get my vision a little more, so I went with them. It was a hard choice!
I’m no help with officiants, because I’m having a friend do the ceremony.
I’ve been working on compiling a “fun things to do” list for my guests. Most of them are traveling from other states. I have a list going on my wedding website, so let me know if you’d like to see it!

Congrats! I have been to several weddings at the Stanley and they have all been lovely. Just a suggestion – you will want your own day of cordinator. With up to five weddings a day at the hotel, you really need a person there looking out for the best interest of your wedding – not just the best interest of the hotel. A few of my friends that have gotten married there indiciated not having their own wedding planner was their biggest wedding regret.

Thanks for all of the suggestions ladies – great help! I look forward to hearing more 🙂
@ZoeKat – I’d love to see your website, if you want send it via a PM.
I must say – I’m becoming quite an addicted Bee 🙂

Hi I’m new here too, but I am also a newlywed. We got married in Estes Park at the Stanley 48 days ago! It’s my hometown, we live in Las Vegas now.
Our wedding was off-peak and we practically had the place to ourselves! If Candace is your Sales Manager, she’s the best!
Here are the vendors we used. The only ones worth mentioning (besides things you already have done!)
Mountain Floral Blooms did my flowers at a great price. Nancy does all the decor there during all the holidays and other things for the hotel. So they know a lot about the hotel, and you know they will do a good job.
Kevin Cooper at Marry Me In Colorado was our pastor, and did everything we ever wanted.Very memorable ceremony.
Jammin’ DJ’s in Denver came all the way up and did a great job.
Congrats and let me know if you have any questions. What rooms did you Stanley brides book for your wedding?

OOH ladies, I am so excited to have found you!! I am getting married at the Stanley this May, I am so excited. Candace is my Sales Manager. Did you hire a planner? I have been avoiding it because of cost but I may bite the bullet and hire someone just for the big day. I noticed you did not mention your cake vendor? Who did you have? I hired Colorado Rose. I have not hired a florist yet, but have heard good things about Nancy. How were her prices? I choose the Concert Hall for the reception and we will be getting married on the front lawn. We are doing a brunch wedding. What room did you choose?
