So far, I would totally have to say my shoes. They were only $30 at JC Penneys, and I love them so much more than any of the $100+ versions I saw!

@bakerella: I love that cake on the left!!!!

So far, my wedding band has to be my FAVORITE bargain.  We got it for under $200 at Kohl’s.

Second favorite bargain would have to be my toss bouquet which I made myself.  It cost about $28 (real touch flowers) and a vintage rhinestone brooch:

I found some amazing letterpressed thank you notes in our colours on clearance for $1 per package of 8! It was so weird to spend more on the postage than the stationery, lol.

The best bargin that we have gotten so far was our photographer. We have her all day with e pics included and prints etc for 866 which is good for a pro photographer. We also got really good deal on the invites. We got them from michaels. I used 40% off coupons and got them for less than a dollar an invite. They turned out better looking than most pro ones that I have seen. Love it!!!

My dress which was $200 (chinese replica) and our photographer which was $400. The package included the entire wedding and a TTD shoot, rights to all photos, free bridal shoot, disk with edited photos, and a leather bound album with 50 shots pre-printed. She is incredible and I am so lucky to have found her. She is the photographer that did our engagement shoot so we trust her and are getting a great deal.

I think we got a lot of bargains that it’s hard to narrow it down! Here are some of the ways we saved money and kept us almost $3000 under budget!

  • Dress: bought in the US for $900 (would have cost over $1600 here)
  • Centrepieces: had 3 cylinder vases filled with glass rocks, submerged orchids, and floating candles. I found all the components at the dollar store, 50%+ discounts at Michaels, and kijiji (spent $12 per centrepiece, if I bought everything full price it would have been twice as much)
  • Photographer: we booked 14 months before our wedding and signed the contract right before she raised her price from $1500 to $2500
  • Invitations: bought in Vietnam for $40 (quoted $300+ here)

We saved a ton of money on a bunch of other stuff too, but I think what I listed above were the best deals!

So far… my ering was $30 at Sears and it exactly the one i wanted. For centerpieces I was able to get 8 ivory bud vases for .25 each. Picked up tea light candle holders at Ikea for .49 each, each holder will hold 3 tea lights, which will be in my 3 colors, ivory, chocolate and green. And of course all the “FREE” from vistaprint only paying for shipping is really kicking the budget butt.

Not married engaged yet, but my boyfriend’s mom bought me 29 brooches toward my brooch bouquet because I had said I wanted to make one. Does someone else buying them count as a bargain? 😀 Otherwise I already have my shoes (Blue Converse).
