@Mrs. Cooper: Why worry about offending her? She stole your image! If she’s truly selling this dress, she should have her OWN images for an accurate representation of the product.

If you do not hear from her in 24 hours, e-mail the website owners and let them know of the stolen photos.

WOW! Not cool. I’m curious if they were using your pic as an example of their own dress OR if they were trying to scam someone out of their money. A little scary.

They say anytime you post a picture on the internet, you should assume that it will be reposted an average 16 times.

Glad that she was willing to take it down!

@kitzy: I think it was meliss. Weird when that happens. It would really freak me out.

hmm…I think that you have to take the risk of someone taking your picture if you post on it on one of these boards.  Hopefully it comes down.

Who cares if she’s offended? She has no right to use your picture without your permission, especially to try to make money off of it. This has been happening a lot lately. It really pisses me off.

Sorry to hear this has happened. Hopefully you can get this cleared up soon. I was also very tempted to post pics of me in my dress but resisted the temptation because I’d heard it had happend to others and really didnt want my Fiance or any friends and family to stumble upon a pic of me in my dress

Yup this happened to me too. My pics taken off this site are used by a Chinese replica dress maker on DHGate. com, kinda like Chinese eBay. My face is not blacked out unlike yours, and their logo is plastered all over me stating the photos are their property!  I contacted the dress maker;  they apologized but instead of taking the photos down they just changed the item to “sold out”. DHGate just sent me some defualt email asking for proof of copyright etc. To be honest, I didn’t follow it through even though I was really mad. I had a feeling it would only make me more aggrevated and not get me anywhere.

You’re probably in more luck if your photo is on a US based used wedding dress site. Just contact the site owner/administrator, they will most likely ask the poster to take the photos down.
