No, they don’t. Sorry! I have still seen pretty ones out there though!

I have yet to see a sparkly black diamond. They polish well and the polish is shiny, but no to very little sparkle.

From what I understand black diamonds are pretty much completely opaque. (Natural ones are, anyway. Treated ones are not) Regardless, I think they’re pretty freaking awesome.

i have a black diamond solitare for my engagement ring.  It isn’t sparkly like a colorless or even like other colored diamonds.  Black diamond are unique because unlike other diamonds they are opaque.  (At least mine is.)  I have to say mine suites me, as an understated person who doesn’t like the limelight, very well.  One thing though that I love about my diamond under bright lights is certain facets will reflect a silver color.  You can see it in the stock photo of my ring.

Black diamonds do not “sparkle”, they they SHINE! Mine is so shinny, it seems to “reflect” lighter colors, if I’m outside it reflects blue from the sky.

i have natural black diamonds on my ring. Just to make you aware the bigger the black diamond the harder it will be not to see the inclusions. Black diamonds are made up entirely of inclusions…and are visible to the naked eye (that is what a black diamond is actually). So even mine (side diamods) if you look in certain light can see inclusions.

and about sparkle…they dont sparkle but shine when clean. so if you want sparkle consider having another colour side stone with your blk diamond.. like white or pink or something,

Nope, they may be shiny but they do not sparkle. I would personally rather get a black sapphire insread. They look identical and come at a much cheaper price. Personally, the only reason to choose a diamond over a nother stone is for the sparkle.

@wrkbrk:  yes it is true. Natural black diamonds are the rarest diamonds… but oddly enough also consider the cheapest price wise.

My Fiance had my ring custome made and after he gave it to me he (and yes I ) noticed inclusions in the black diamond (although small). We went to the jewler and asked him, he said all black diamonds have inclusions because they are a bunch of inclusions in one diamond. That is what makes them black!

He asked if I wanted another stone or a faux blk diamond… i decided to keep it. I was drawn to the fact that they are the rarest diamonds.

I don’t mind the inclusions…they don’t show as much as a inclusion on a white diamond because the light doesn’t shine through it.

I think black diamonds will up demand, and therefore value, in the future, so as an investment I think it was a good one.

My Fiance even said the ring is appraised more then what he got it for because of it’s uniqueness and rarity.
