@tksjewelry: for sure!

Also… I guess I should have mentioned this in my other post.. but if people in your personal life know that you blog some of them could be reading. I found this out the hard way in one of the first few recap posts I did. Someone thought that I had misrepresented a situation and that I was being ungrateful. It was bad… I was upset, Mr.D was upset, our families and friends were upset… We were newlyweds and felt like all these people who supposedly supported our marriage – didn’t. That incident put me off my recaps for a long while, and to be honest, I still think of it with every post I write and initially sucked out my enthusiasm for writing recaps.

So, not only do I want to capture the day in the way that I remembered it, I want to do it in a way that couldn’t possibly offend either of our families or friends. So each post I have to go through and have Mr.D read to make sure I couldn’t be offending someone. It’s tough!

I agree with most of the Bees when it comes to comments. Comments get me energized and excited! I just want to blog blog blog all day long. But, I certainly got a little down and have been slow to finish my recaps (I’m right up to the first dance) after I posted my favorite portion of our wedding video (I was SOOO excited to get it!!) and I got 5 COMMENTS. 5 COMMENTS?!?! It just made me soooo sad. I was a sad little dolphin for like a week. How could it have 841 views and 5 comments?

Anyways, I’m trying to get myself to the reception which I KNOW will be hard for me to write as I had a few things that made me SUPER SAD during our reception, and sorta made me feel like our wedding was a BUST. But, I guess that is just how it goes sometimes. I’m not even sure if I’ll be able to share it because my family reads. Blahs.

Anyways, thanks for the statistics, really made me evaluate where I was in my recaps. ๐Ÿ™‚

@dolphin: I definitely need to go back and watch. I may have already, not sure. But heres the thing with video – as much as I LOVE watching wedding videos, I am usually at work while reading the blog. This means that Im not able to watch the video. A lot of times Ill make a mental note that I should go back and watch the video, but by the time I get home and am doing other things I always forget about it. I try to comment as much as possible (because I know that comments do fuel the fire – and thank you for commenting several times on my personal blog!) but I will try to comment more and more.

To all the bees who have posted here (and any who may be lurking).  I read EVERYTHING on the blogs.  I appreciate it.  I love it.  I can’t get enough.  I haven’t commented much in the past, simply because you Bee’s kind of intimidate me.  I’m still fairly new to this site, and finding my way on the boards.  The Bee’s themselves are a bit like the cool kids on the other side of the lunchroom.

Promise I will try to do better about commenting!  But know that even if I don’t, I’m out here, reading and bookmarking things left and right!  So please, please, please keep it coming!

@Shiner: That’s really nice of you to say. ๐Ÿ™‚ And don’t be shy – honestly? The people around here are some of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of knowing through the web. I love this entire community!

@napabridekelsey: I completely agree – the recaps are the best part!

Thanks for doing this! I thought a lot had “dropped off the radar”!

@PitBulLover:  I pretty much only read the Bee at work, and therefore don’t watch the videos. Actually, that’s only half true…I would totally watch them (whatever. I hate my job and work for family), but my work computer doesn’t have speakers and I’m too lazy to buy some and hook them up. I always think I’ll go back and watch at home, but I never remember.

Also, to the Bees: I have been married for 2 years now, so I typically only pay attention to the recaps on the blog anymore. I might scan through a post here or there, but I just don’t care about choosing bridemaids’ dresses or flowers. It’s just not what my life is about right now. But I can always enjoy seeing a wedding day in it’s entirety. And while I read just about every recap post, I promise to try and comment more from now on. ๐Ÿ™‚

Hmm. I wonder how I fit into this. I recapped a majority of our wedding but stopped after announcing that we got a divorce. I felt like it would be a bit strange to continue blogging about a wedding when my husband I’d be writing about is now my ex. I have tried to keep up blogging about divorce and life after marriage but I’m kind of at a dead end and don’t know what to write about. I want to keep writing but I don’t want to be a downer or upset anyone by rambling about the perks of divorce. If anyone has any questions they’d like me to answer in a post, please let me know and I’ll start writing more! <3

I got a huge smile on my face when I read this because I am soooo not that cool kid on the other side of the lunch room. I am the girl you see at hot topic buying the newest band t-shirt while everyone is thinking “that’s a band?”.

Definitely don’t feel intimidated by us, were just everyday brides who like to blog. Laughing

@meerkat: I’ve also heard people say that Weddingbee is kind of like a sorority. I think it’s funny because I never even considered joining one in college, and I’ve never been anything resembling cool. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Hell, I wasn’t even band nerd cool; I was always just a dork. But I really do love this community, and it’s funny to have people think of us as the cool kids, even though most of us wouldn’t think of ourselves that way. We’re just members of the same community, who really like to write!

I just want to say something about commenting on recaps. Some things I just can’t read like posts on videos, one on one bridesmaid photos, or groom/bride photos because we didn’t get these. I had the pictures on my list, but with the major problem which happened prevented us from getting them. Now reading posts with these in them make me very, very sad. I loved our wedding, but just like many of you, there are parts which make me upset and I don’t want to see the awesome pictures or videos you got. I hope that makes sense because I have followed the newer bees throughout.

@MsBrooklynA: Whoa – bravo on the detective work, Ms B!

As a soon-to-be-wed Bee, I have to thank you for posting this info and starting this dialogue with the rest of the hive. All of your comments about recaps are the motivation I’ll need when recap time comes along. This conversation also makes me realize that there are thousands of bees that are silent, but equally supportive and loyal, followers. I have to remember that. And one final plug – we Bees really really love hearing your thoughts, opinions, personal stories. The wedding, life and relationship knowledge I’ve gained from your comments in a few months is unbelievable and so very valuable to me. And I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that! ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow this has been a GREAT post to read! Way to go with all the hard work on the stats MsBrooklynA! Very very impressive.

I’m glad to hear from the bloggers too. I’m always afraid that if I comment on a topic that already has alot of responses, then my comment will get lost in the mix. There have also been times where I thought about commenting on old posts but thought “oh this is from a few months ago they’re gonna think I’m weird!” Good to know that it’s wanted! I’ll definately comment more because I love the recaps!
