- Wedding: July 2014
I’m Irish and my fiancé is Indian, although he lived in Ireland half his life and his family live there. We’re planning a wedding in Ireland and then a reception in Bangalore so tthat his relatives there are included. We weren’t planning on doing a ceremony there, but his sister has pointed out that several relatives may take offence if we don’t have one. Fiance absolutely does not want any elaborate rituals or prolonged ceremony, and as far as we’re both concerned we’ll be married after the first wedding with no need fora repeat.
I was thinking a compromise might be to have a simple blessing at the Indian reception, maybe 15 – 30 mins max, perhaps incorporating the most meaningful parts of the ceremony. But I have no idea what to include or how to approach it. I’d appreciate any ideas or opinions.
