Yeah just wait another couple of days and if AF still hasn’t arrived, test again!

was it the first time you had peed for the day when you took the test? i think people take tests on the first day of missing their periods and get positives, so i don’t think you took it too soon. but if you had drank a lot of water to make yourself go to the bathroom later in the day, that may have resulted in a negative.

It could also depend on what kind of test you used. I tested the day after my period was due, first in the early morning with a dollar store test (very faint second line) and then a few hours later with a FRER (dark second line). I know the waiting can be agony, but I’d give it a couple of days and test again if AF still hasn’t shown up.

@pepsodiny:  You only know for sure when you ovulate if you are temping. If you are using an ovulation predictor strips/kits, it will detect your LH surge, which occurs before you ovulate. BUT, you can get the LH surge without ever ovulating. So, the only sure fire way to know is to temp. THey say ppl ovulate in the middle of their cycles, or 14 days after they get their period, but that is guess work unless you are peeing on sticks and temping for yourself. I ovulated 5 days “later than average” on my last cycle, but knew I would from using the OPK, and got my BFP that cycle.

They say to use the first day you need an actual tampon/pad as the first day of your period.
