I am engaged, but I have a very special ring that I’m going to be wearing on the day of the wedding… It was my grandmother’s (on my dad’s side) before she passed away when I was only 6 months old. My grandfather was a pilot in the air force and was stationed all over the world, well he was on an island somewhere and found these stones (not sure if they are actual diamonds or not though) and had them finished and made them into a ring for my grandmother. When she died she willed the ring to my mother, who will eventually give it to me, but she’ll lend it to me on our wedding day. It’s not perfect and it’s not particularly well made, but it means the world to me. 🙂

@o0olibelulao0o: that´s a beautiful ring!!! i´ve always wanted a flower shaped diamond ring….they´re so pretty =) and old cut diamonds….someday i´ll just have to buy one for myself!!
beautif rings ladies…. here i have 2 more i can show you;
first one is a pear shaped tanzanite my dad got for me….it´s really special because he wanted to buy me a gift, so we went inside this jewelry store that specialized in tanzanite and he said : pick anything you like =)….he´s awesome like that.
The second one is my promise ring…a solitaire emerald in 14k yellow gold. i love the simplicity and timelessness of solitaire rings. I hope my e-ring is a solitaire.

No pic, but I had a great aunt who had the same birthday as me, and when she died, I inherited her birth stone ring. It’s very special to me.

This is my rhr from my parents. On my mom’s side of the family, her and her two sisters got their birthstone ring for their 16th birthday. When I was 14, I found my mom’s and she let me wear hers until I turned 16 and was given mine. I was able to pick out the ring, and when I saw it in the store, it had a ruby in it. She had it made with my August birthstone, Peridot. I love it so much, and will probably wear it forever! =)

When SO and I had been dating four months he surprised me with the amethyst ring (below) because he couldn’t wait until Christmas (which was a few months away). It wasn’t a promise ring or anything, he just wanted to get me a ring. I remember it caused some problems between him and his dad because we were only 17 at the time. I wear it on my ring finger on my right hand and still love it after three years (:
The other ring is my promise ring, he gave it to me on my birthday/our first Valentine’s Day together. It’s from Tiffany & Co! I wear it on my left ring finger and can’t wait until I get to switch it to another finger so that I can wear my e-ring 😉
ETA: I have a few other special rings that my mom and grandma passed down to me on my 16th and 18th birthdays, but I don’t have pictures of them 🙁

I wish I had a picture of my ring because it’s hard to explain but I got it from my parents when I graduated college. It has a blue-ish/purple marquise stone mounted sideways and then the silver makes a cool design. That was a horrible explaination but it is unique and beautiful and is also engraved. It is very special to me. I wear it on my middle finger so that I can wear it long after I am engaged.

Bought a diamond RHR as a reward to myself for passing some testing to get my job. Lost it on the beach in CA. Waited a couple years and bought this beauty as a reward for making all my financial goals 2 years early. And as a just because. 🙂

My boyfriend gave me a ring just like this. Back in 2004 I was 16 he was 17. I wear it on my left ring finger waiting until he gives me the “real ring” LOL

Mine might not ‘count’ because it technically was an engagement ring, but I wanted to share too! Mine is the stone from my first engagement ring. I had it made after my husband died for my first birthday ‘alone’ since I was 17 and wear it everyday. I wore it on my left hand for a LONG time (because getting used to wearning no rings after being married proved way too difficult), and when I got engaged to my current Fiance I switched it to my right hand.

I hadn´t read your message MerryWidow, and just wanted to say you are very brave…thanks for sharing your ring and your story. It´s a very very beautiful ring and i hope it reminds you everyday what a very very beautiful person you are. What a strong bee =)

I have 3 – I hope that’s ok! all you ladies have such beautiful rings!! I’m also thinking of doing something like claireos and getting one for myself… but then, maybe I have enough!
1 – infinity ring (my name for it!), gold with diamonds, my SO gave me for my birthday a couple of years ago. It’s shaped like the infinity sign because he draws it for me a lot 🙂 I wear it on my left hand but middle finger. Absent-mindedly taking it off and sliding it on my ring finger has become a recent habit
– My Nanna’s ring – only fits on my left hand ring finger. Hoping one day I’ll notice someone has snuck it out of my jewellery box… I wear it on her birthday and just whenever I feel.
-My Gran’s ring: my grandfather gave this to her for their 40 year anniversary and I got it hwne she passed away. It’s silver and engraved with flowers – so beautiful.
