- Wedding: June 2013
I’ll start by saying my twin sister and I *always* plan our birthday parties together. She works in the ER and scheduling is tough. We decided on a saturday night 2 weeks before our actual birthday, because it was the only time we could both be together. We sent out FB invites to a group of friends to meet up at a bar where one of our friends hosts a karaoke show at. Also, my boyfriend (now FI!!) along with me,and a bunch of other friends all pitched in to get my sister a bass amp for her birthday… so, the plan was to stop at our friends house, give her the amp, and head to the bar…
We get to the house and go upstairs, and twin was so surprised, and loved the amp! then we went downstairs and into the kitchen to grab something before heading out to the bar– and SURPRISE—
ALL of our friends from the FB invite were there!! The house was decorated in a “sweet 16/pink” theme! I was totally shocked! They had a keg, a Penis-shaped Luge (ice block that you do shots from) over 100 jello shots, AND our karaoke friend was all set up in the living room with his equipment!. They put crowns on our heads, and took us to get “pinked” up with a whole bunch of accessories– sashes, buttons, temp tattoos, glow in the dark bracelets, etc…
Neither one of us were too thrilled with turning 30 – but this was a sweet surpries. all the little details were perfect. They took pics of us and put them on fake magazine covers and hung them all around the house.. .got cupcakes from our FAV cupcake place..so many details… After the shock of surprise, everyone started partying and doing karaoke..
Close to midnight, I was super tipsy– everyone was trying to get me to eat! (they thought i would be too trashed and pass out before the proposal!!)
My Fiance got on the mic and sang “Love of a lifetime” by firehouse- which is one of my FAVs…
After it was over, he started saying how much he loved me , and got down on one knee and proposed!!!
Of course I said yes!- and ugly cried! then we kissed, and our friends popped champagne!
Then they handed us champagne flutes engraved with “Love of a Lifetime… ” our names, and the date!
I’m still on cloud 9.
