Where are you registered?

Crate and Barrel, Macy’s and Amazon

How far in advance did you register for items before your wedding?

About 6 months, but lots of things were discontinued or I changed my mind.  If I had to do it over, I would have done it around the 3 month mark.

Did you register online, in person, or both?

Both

How many quests are invited to your wedding?

About 140

How many items are on your registry (if you have multiple, list your overall total and how many on each registry).

Before anything was purchased, there were about 130 items (50 at both Macy’s and Amazon and 30 at Crate and Barrel, counting each dish or glass as a separate item)

What is your most expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want?

A TV -1

What is your least expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want?

Corn picks – 12 for $0.75 each

What item has the highest quantity to it, how many of it do you want, and how much is it?

We have a number of items that we are requesting 12 (corn picks, china place settings and bowls, crystal glasses).  These range in price from $30-$140

What is your most frivolous item on your list?

An expensive crystal vase.  We don’t need it, but I love it.

Is there an item your FI wanted specifically added?

the TV

What was the last item you added to your list?

After our shower, I thought we could use a few more items in the $25-$50 range so I added some everyday serving dishes.

Has anyone purchased anything from your list yet?

Yes, our shower was 2 weeks ago and about 1/3 of the list was purchased.  I’m wondering if the Amazon registry was a good idea because many guests purchased from the C&B and Macy’s registries, but the Amazon registry wasn’t used.

Where are you registered?

Bed bath and Beyond, Macy’s, and Crate and Barrel

How far in advance did you register for items before your wedding?

We registered a few weeks ago, and our wedding isn’t until October of 2013, but we are planning to have an engagement party this coming September.

Did you register online, in person, or both?

We did the initial registry at all stores in person, but have subsquently made MANY changes online.

How many quests are invited to your wedding?

We’re inviting about 230 guests to our wedding and about 150 to the engagement party.

How many items are on your registry (if you have multiple, list your overall total and how many on each registry).

We have about 160 separate items on our registries combined, but that doesn’t include items we registered for multiples of (eg: 12 wine glasses counts as 1 item).  About 130 on Bed Bath and Beyond (mostly kitchen items), about 20 on Macy’s (mostly towels, nice vases, and luggage), and about 15 on Crate and Barrel (dishes, flatware, and servingware).

What is your most expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want?

Most expensive item is $600 Dyson animal ball vacuum, and just one will do 🙂

What is your least expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want?

Least expensive item is $1.99 ice cream sundae cup and we registered for 8 of them.

What item has the highest quantity to it, how many of it do you want, and how much is it?

We registered for service for 24 for both dishes and flatware.  They both come in sets of 4 so thats 6 sets of each.  Each set of dishes (16 dishes, 4 place settings) is $59.99 from Crate and Barrel and the flatware is $79.99 for 4 place settings, a serving fork and serving spoon.  These are everyday dishes and flatware, not China.

What is your most frivolous item on your list?

Most frivilous item is definately one of those Margaritaville blender/frozen drink maker machines. haha One of my friend’s parents have one and she always raves about it.  Its $200, but could make an awesome gift!! (Definately not something we “need” though.)

Is there an item your FI wanted specifically added?
My Fi specifically wanted Zwilling JA Henckels Twin series knives.  They’re like $400 for a 12 piece set, but he “swears” they’re worth it. haha

What was the last item you added to your list?

The most recent item I added was two packages of K-cups because I was reading through the Bed Bath and Beyond completion bonuses and saw that if you get a Keurig and two packages of K-cups you get the stand thingy for free, so I figured we may as well add ’em.

Has anyone purchased anything from your list yet?

Yes!! A few days after we finished everything up, one of my FMIL’s friends bought us a Calphalon grill pan and Calphalon 8 qt steamer pot!! I was really excited and we have already received the package!! We also received one of our dishes sets from Crate and Barrel from my Fi’s cousin!

Where are you registered?

Crate & Barrel, Target, BB&B

How far in advance did you register for items before your wedding?

Um, over a year.  It was the first thing we did we were so excited to be getting married!

Did you register online, in person, or both?

How many items are on your registry (if you have multiple, list your overall total and how many on each registry).  153

What is your most expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want? A $500 bookcase that we don’t actually expect to get but want 10% off after the wedding.  Besides that, we have a $200 All-Clad roaster set (1), and several very nice knives for around $170.

What is your least expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want? Lots of things (30-35) under $20, the thought process being that people can buy lots of little stuff to add up to what they want to spend.

What item has the highest quantity to it, how many of it do you want, and how much is it? Our china set (12 settings), $90 for a 5 piece place setting, glasses ($17 each), and accent plates (set of 12) are $34.

Where are you registered?Crate and Barrel and Williams-Sonoma.

How far in advance did you register for items before your wedding?Right before invitations went out – 3 months. No bridal shower.

Did you register online, in person, or both?We did both. We did CB in person at a party and finished it online. We started WS online and went in-store to finalize and check out sizing/colors/etc.

How many quests are invited to your wedding?100

How many items are on your registry (if you have multiple, list your overall total and how many on each registry).

Around 70-80 skus (each product is one sku, but I had multiples of certain skus, such as wine glasses or silverware). We expected a fair amount of people to give cash, as is cultural, and we didn’t want to register for things just to register. We only registered for things we wanted and needed.

What is your most expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want?

A three-piece knife set ($500). Just one set was registered, of course. Shockingly, it has been purchased!

What is your least expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want?

Wine glasses, $6.95. Two different volumes. 12 of each.

What item has the highest quantity to it, how many of it do you want, and how much is it?

All the glassware has the same highest quantity of 12. They ranged from $6.95 to $14.95.

What is your most frivolous item on your list?

We have a lot of “frivolous” items as we’ve lived together for years so we own a lot of nice utilitarian items. I would say vases, picture frames, and other decorative items.

Is there an item your FI wanted specifically added?

A few but they were mostly all utilitarian, like a wheatgrass juicer.

What was the last item you added to your list?

Silicone cooking tools since people actually bought some nice LC cookware for us.

Has anyone purchased anything from your list yet?

Yes, because we are getting married this month! We probably still have 50% of the registry available for purchase.

Where are you registered? Bed Bath and Beyond and Macy’s

How far in advance did you register for items before your wedding? 8-9 months

Did you register online, in person, or both? In person, then added stuff online

How many quests are invited to your wedding? around 160

How many items are on your registry (if you have multiple, list your overall total and how many on each registry). less than 200 total, but there’s multiples of dishes, etc (IE we asked for 12 settings of everything) We also asked for a bunch of little kitchen gadgets that are inexpensive. We already own our house so a lot is upgrades, and most of our friends don’t have tons of money to spend anyway. We’re kind of hoping most people will give cash. 🙂

What is your most expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want? my KitchenAid stand mixer, and I asked for the fancy one, so it’s like $450. I’m planning on using gift cards and the completion discount… unless someone is feeling really really generous.

What is your least expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want? We have a ton of $10 and under stuff from BBB–mostly cooking utensils, stuff like that.

What item has the highest quantity to it, how many of it do you want, and how much is it? We registered for 12 settings of china and flatware, at $35-50/setting.

What is your most frivolous item on your list? some of our serving dishes are more pretty, less functional, but I’m excited for them. Oh, and the memory foam bathmat–so unnecessary but soooooo nice to stand on.

Is there an item your FI wanted specifically added? He does most of the cooking so he picked out pots and pans, some of the kitchen accessories, etc. We wanted to upgrade our junk we’ve both had since college and fill in some missing pieces. I chose baking stuff and the decorative things.

What was the last item you added to your list? I keep changing the towels and sheets because I can’t decide–I have a thing for linens.

Has anyone purchased anything from your list yet? Nope, but not surprising given that I still have to address and mail our STDs.

  • Wedding: February 2012

I really want to play even though I’m married. Please? Smile I love things like this.

Where are you registered?

We registered at Crate and Barrel and Bed, Bath and Beyond.

How far in advance did you register for items before your wedding?

We registered in December, a few weeks before my shower. The wedding was mid-February. So about 1 1/2 – 2 months. We only had a 4 month engagement, however, so if we’d had longer then I would’ve registered much earlier.

Did you register online, in person, or both?

I registered in store for both. Bed, Bath and Beyond was a fanstastic experience and Crate and Barrell not so much. I did a little bit of online tweaking afterward, but not much.

How many quests are invited to your wedding?

We invited about 350. My husband’s divorced parents both had a list, as did my divorced parents, as did my husband and I. In my community this is very common. Since my husband’s parent’s guest lists were based primarily in New Jersey we knew that none of them would come besides a few close friends. Since my mom’s list is local and more the family friends that I grew up with, they were the majority. We invited 350, planned for 150 and that’s exactly what we got.

How many items are on your registry (if you have multiple, list your overall total and how many on each registry).

228 gifts at Bed, Bath and Beyond – 26 at Crate and Barrel.

Of course some of that is wine glasses, for instance, where we wanted 8 of them, so the same item is in the count 8 times.

What is your most expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want?

My china serving pieces and I wanted one of each serving piece. I didn’t expect to receive any and I didn’t, although I do have full service china in every other aspect. One of the most expensive gifts we received was our Calphalon cookware set that we did not even register for, my mom’s best friend and her husband bought that for us very shortly after we got engaged. I know it cost more than the Cuisinart one I registered for.

What is your least expensive item on your list and how many of it do you want?

I registered for some small things, like condiment mixer bowl and olive spoon at Crate and Barrel. I think I regsitered for just one of each of those.

What item has the highest quantity to it, how many of it do you want, and how much is it?

Definitely anything china related had the highest quanitity. I registered for service for 16. I now have service for 12 (which is great anyway as I didn’t even realize that my great grandmother’s silverware that we’re using with it only has service for 12 and I’m not hunting down silverware right now online.) Each place setting was about $150, I believe. I’m too lazy to go check. Maybe it was $100. It was the Vera Wang Vera Lace for Wedgwood at Bed, Bath and Beyond.

What is your most frivolous item on your list?

Hmm.. I’m not sure if we really had a frivolous item. We did not live together before marriage and I tried to keep my list practical, as far as what we really needed. Of course, some of the stuff we needed was really overpriced at Bed, Bath and Beyond or for the brand name, but I went with it anyway. After five hours in BB&B I was so exhausted and I realized I should’ve registered for a garbage can (I don’t know why..) The first one I saw was hundreds of dollars (for a GARBAGE CAN) and I registered for it LOL! My C&B registry was mostly for serving pieces and such, and I guess the condiment mixing bowl was pretty frivolous, LOL. I also registered for sushi plates and I got them! And a basket to put towels in, but I didn’t get that.

Is there an item your FI wanted specifically added?

He really wanted a coffemaker but as my mom had a Mr. Coffee machine that she didn’t use and was giving to us I really didn’t want to put that on there. I think it’s an item that people would definitely buy and since we actually needed so much of what was on our registry I didn’t want someone to buy something we already had. He was pleasantly surprised to find that I put some beer mugs from C&B on there for him. (He wasn’t with me when I registered because we had an LDR until December when he moved down. I kept waiting and waiting but finally the shower was coming up and people were asking about the registry so I just had to go with my mom. It was disappointing, but I know he would not have been having a good time during the process.)

What was the last item you added to your list?

A box of 12 margarita glasses. I added those online a few weeks before the wedding. I saw some amazingly cool ones on a friend’s registry at C&B. I couldn’t afford all 4 that she was registered for, so I got her 2 for her and her hubby. I went to BB&B to see what they had by way of margarita glasses and they had a box of 12 for like $25 or $30. One of my husband’s friends purchased it for us shortly thereafter.

Has anyone purchased anything from your list yet?

Yay! Wedding is over and we really received almost everything from our registry that we really needed. I went into BB&B after the wedding during the completion event and finished up what I needed.

By the way, note to bride’s registering. I received in the mail a few months ago a coupon to BB&B for $25.00 off a purchase of $50.00 or more because my friend told BB&B that I referred her to their registry when she went to register. I actually did not refer her, I barely speak to this girl and I think since she got married shortly after me my name probably was in her head. Either way, it was completely sweet and out of the blue! If you have a friend who you know could use that, refer them when you go to register there!
