My turning point was after I left my ex and came back home to Jersey.  I decided to go off my anti-depressants.  I worked out and lost a ton of weight.  I got myself together/focused and enrolled in a county college.  I continue to push harder to make it even further.  It’s a battle at times because I refuse to go back on medication.

I’ll play!

A turning point in my life was in highschool when I realized all of the people whom I thought I could always count on, turned on me and became vindictive backstabbing b*tches.

I know this is pretty common for people to not stay friends with all of their highschool friends, but I was the type of person who was so nice to everyone, would let anyone walk all over me if it meant they were happy, and never stuck up for myself. So when that happened I just completely changed and started living for myself and truly not caring about people thought of me!

@aliavenue:  what was a turning point in your life???

The turning point in my life was quiting my job in the country and returning back to the city to work… It gave me the strength to go travelling which is the best thing i have done… it made me grow up and realise i could do what i want and i dont need other people to do that…

I brought a house shortly after i returned from my trip – all by myself, decided i couldnt wait for a husband cos that may not happen :)…

For me, my turning point was when I really began to see God’s hand of provision, power, protection, direction, leading and transformation in my life. It wasn’t necessarily one specific moment, although I can pinpoint a fairly pronounced beginning to it. Rather, it has been more of a series of events and experiences in which He has demonstrated His character and proved His faithfulness to me in specific ways over time. It has been an incredibly amazing and wonderful journey, one that absolutely has transformed and defined who I am today.

I think I have had two turning points in my life… The first being when I broke off a 5 year relationship/engagement (odd, i just noticed that is the title of a movie!HA) and went to Israel (because I was in college and he did not allow me to travel or study abroad at the time) I learned that I really could do what I wanted and be successful at it without anyone elses help, I learned that it was a lot easier to support my self that I thought it would have been and I learned that I am capable of pretty much anything with enough patience and determination.

I learned that lesson again a few years later when I became homeless after a terrible rental/landlord nightmare that was not particualrly anyone fault but was a terrible situation for everyone. I didn’t want to rely on anyone, I had a tent and a truck and basicly lived on a patch of grass out of town for 4 months. I have never before experienced the kindness of others in such an amazing way. I live in a small town and people new what had happened and what was going on. They knew were I was staying and a few people in town that I didn’t even know made an effort to look after me I am eternally grateful for the kindness of random strangers. Since then I have purchased my own home (with my own 1 bedroom rental unit attached) I have had to opprotunity to temporarily house a number of people who were in similar situations to what I was in and I am going to keep doing so knowing that one day they might return the favor to someone else who needs it.
