Why not? Even if you are a US size 14-16, I still think that style flatters most figures and if I guess correctly, you might be a US size 10-12?
It’s difficult to answer this question.
a. Forget about your size because it doesn’t matter: what is your SHAPE and what are your favorite features? If you have an hourglass figure, it’ll probably compliment your curves, but if you have large breasts, it might be awesome, but too large and it’ll be too revealing. If you have an apple shape, I wouldn’t recommend that style and if you hate your butt, I might think twice. Are you short? Because the full skirt might make you look like you’re sinking into the ground. KWIM?
b. Wedding dresses oftentimes have complicated constructions and it can be tough to tell what it’ll look like on versus on the hanger. Couple that with the fact that it REALLY looks different in an ad, in which case the girl is a 6-foot tall model, it’s probably been pinned somewhere in the back so it fits a certain way, there’s crazy lighting, photoshopping etc. etc. In other words, what’s preventing you from trying it on? Does the dress only sell online? If so, then you should be able to return it–if not, I wouldn’t buy.
Why be “scared” to try on a dress? I mean, I’m asking that rhetorically because I get that it’s scary if you are uncomfortable with your body, but to quote Tim Gunn, “Clothes to not exist to humiliate their wearers.” If the dress doesn’t look right on you, then it’s the DRESS that’s not right–YOU are fine. And believe me, you can fall in love with a picture of a dress, but once you try it on and don’t like it? All that love will go out the window and you’ll be SO ready to try on something else. It’s like that guy you thought was cute in the bar and then brought him home and realized he’s not a keeper. So get yourself to a store and try it on! And while you’re at it, open up and try a few more on!
Gorgeous dress! I think it would be a wonderrful choice!
It’s a beautiful dress but I agree with JennyW1 that you need to try it on your own body before we can really decided how it looks on you. Good luck!
Um, you’ve posted this thread a couple times today. Make sure you let people have a chance to reply to some of your other threads as well.
Go and try it on. You’re not going to know if it suits or not until you try it on! After all, as someone else said, the size doesn’t matter, what matters is your body shape and how you feel in the dress.
im gonna go and try it on i’ll let you all know how i get on thanks girls xx 🙂
Try it! Just keep in mind you may put it on and note like it! And that’s okay!
I actually bought this exact dress, just in the strapless version. I am a US size 6 on top, and 8-10 on bottom. It is VERY flattering. Not sure how that translates to UK sizes, but I think it would probably look good on you. I am “pear” shaped (bigger on bottom than top) and it looks great!
