I think you could steam it yourself beforehand, but a certain amount of wrinkling is going to be inevitable, I’m pretty sure that the minute I sit in my pretty I’m gonna have a rather wrinkly behind!

My MOH’s sister had a steamer that she let us borrow. It was nice because the Bridesmaid or Best Man were able to fix their dresses also. I ended up not having time to do mine because we were running late with pictures but i didn’t care at that point either. I would ask around to see if a friend has one and will let you borrow it!

It depends on the material as to whether you can directly steam it or not. Instead of putting your dress back in the bag, you should pick it up in a vehicle that can have the seats laid down flat. Spread a very clean sheet out to protect the dress from the car, and lay the dress on the sheet (it should have a cardboard dress form in it to keep the bodice from wrinkling). Cover the dress with another clean sheet. When you get it home, store it laying flat out (we put mine in my aunt’s spare bedroom), also laying on and under the clean sheets. If you don’t have a place you can lay it flat, keep it hanging well off the ground in a place where your Fiance can’t see it! But, whatever you do, DON’T put it back in the bag!
