@trugem: My hair is relaxed.  I have thought about going natural, but my head is wayyyyyyyyyy too big to go for such a drastic haircut and I really do enjoy the manageability of relaxed hair.  My cousin wears her hair natural,a nd for her wedding she incorporated shells into her dreads and then tied a satin scarf around it.  She looked regal!  As for my plans, I am going to just have a soft side swept ponytail i believe – I dont want anything too stiff, I want soft touchable hair that will last throughout the ceremony, reception, and night ;).

The cousin that had the dreads for her wedding now rocks a really low fade, and her bone structure is amazing so it looks great on her.  I think you can definitely find a natural style that works for you and still lets your natural beauty shine through.  Good luck!

Hey ladies! Natural sista over here! I big chopped in July and am just rocking my afro. I have no idea what my length or style will be when I get married.

@souliganprincess:

My hair is relaxed, although I am now relaxing it less often so I always have a good amount of new growth going. I wore it natural when I was younger on and offf but have decided against it as an adult. It is just waaay to much work for me because my hair is extremely kinky (type 4b). I am planning on growing it out as much as I can in the run-up to the wedding before I settle on my style of choice.

I’ve got relaxed hair, but it’s been about 6 months since I had a relaxer, so I’ve got a TON of new growth… I was originally planning on going natural, but all the new growth has reminded me how difficult my natural hair is!  I’ve also got a few different textures, and my hair is super unmanageable… I’ll I’ve been able to think about for 1-2 months is having my straight hair back, so I’m planning on getting it relaxed in a week or two.  Then, I’ll grow it out, and plan my wedding style based on how much hair I have next year.

mid back length locs. I’ve been natural for almost 20 years. After H.S. got sick of perms so I started with afro, then moved on to the press & curl and or braids for a number of years. Finally in 2001 started locing. I had to chop off a ton of inches a few months ago because it was just too long (wouldn’t hold the curl).

For the wedding it will probalby be a up do or semi piled on my head with spirl curls all around. I haven’t decided on if I’d do veil so the hairstyle is also dependant on that.

My hair is relaxed too. I am thinking of going with a side swept messy ponytail with curls for the wedding…  I usually get a relaxer every 3 months or so sometimes a tad bit longer.

My hair is natural (has been for 5 months) and I love it. I plan to wear my hair natural and I’m not yet sure how, but I love my curly hair and I’m glad that I rediscovered it!

My SO has curls too and his hair is gorgeous, so I’ll have to make sure I do something really special with my hair. I love the idea of using a flower or flowers in hair. I was thinking about doing something similar.

Are you concerned about your hair’s texture or is it length? I bet there are some good websites to check regarding curly/kinky haired brides that might give you inspiration.
