Nicky, these are the CUTEST save the date that I have seen. Love it! An idea for the invitation is white invitation with black formal writting with a beautiful yellow silk ribbon around the invitation. Classy matches with everything and will fit your traditional/ballroom theme.

Hi Ladies!

I’m Shay from L.A.

My wedding date is quickly approaching; June 11, 2011.

My fiancé is from New Orleans, LA and he just recently moved to California for good. We have been together for a little over a year. And our wedding date is almost a year to the date that he proposed.

The ceremony and reception is at the same location, The Ebell Club of Long Beach (http://www.ebellclub.com).

The guest count began at 100 and now slowly creeping up to 120.

My colors are ivory and gold, with black accents, and RED flowers (over 2,000 roses and 1,000 carnations).

The first thing I bought was my dress, lol. Then I booked my wedding coordinator for the day of, cater, ceremony musicians, florist, photographer, and videographer (http://www.ImpressiveCreations.com). I provided the link to the videographer because his work is AHHHH-mazing!

The only DIY project that I have planned are the Thai silk invitations and the flowers for the cocktail tables.

I have planned every detail meticulously, so much so that I am having nightmares, lol.

It is a pleasure to chat with you ladies…

@Miss Tattoo:Thank you! I have tried to get everything out of the way as soon as possible. I’m in my last year of college, so I’m trying to have the wedding planned and out of my hair so I can concentrate on finishing.

The only thing that I have left to do is find a DJ!!! And for me, that’s the most important thing! My friend gave me a contact to a local radio DJ, so I am going to give him a call and see what his rates are. *fingers crossed*

Oh yeah, I would like to surprise my Fiance with a second line band, but those are so difficult to come buy here in L.A.

Hi Ladies!

I’m Elle, 24 and engaged (for the most part, lol). My Fiance is stationed in S. Korea for 3 more months, so we’ve set a date and started planning, but I’m still waiting for the actual ring to be on my finger! So I’ll keep you ladies posted once he’s home. Laughing I live outside of Philly and he’s stationed at Fort Bragg and we both have large families, so we’re still looking at whether to have it in my hometown (DE) or his. Our guest list so far is about 80-85 people and it’s going to be very casual and non-traditional. I’m planning on doing a lot of DIY things because we’re paying for everything on our own (with a little help from my older brother) on a tight budget. We are both Muslim converts with Christian families so we’ll have to do a little educating our families on the ceremony but other than that, everything is pretty open. I’ve been lurking for about a month but finally found a place I felt comfortable introducing myself. Looking forward to exchanging ideas & planning journeys with all of you! <3

Hello Ladies,

My name is Sade, 32 and my Fiance is 29 mexican, german, and french. We are getting married in Sonoma California because it is on of our favorite places. We are doing a lot of DIY for this wedding such as my veil, letterpressed invitation (see my pictures in the gallery) STD, marmalade for favors, and all the other paper stuff that goes with having a wedding. So far I have been having a blast planning this wedding. I pretty much have all my vendors booked and ready to go only because I have a planner though.

Our colors are mustard yellow, navy blue, silver, and varying shades of grey.

I can’t wait for the day to get here though because I can wait to be married to my Fiance already. I am looking forward to everyone’s ideas and if anyone has questions please don’t hesitate to ask.

Hello everyone….. My username is Suburban and I too am a AA bride to be.

I am 23 years old and my fiancee is 30.

I am from Pittsburgh, PA and my fiancee is from Central PA.  But I am pretty sure that our wedding will take place in Pittsburgh.

We are planning a August 2012 wedding with a budget somewhere in between 15K-25K.  (We have yet to actually set the amount.)

We have yet to complete any wedding tasks because we just got engaged less than a week ago.  But I am currently putting together checklists and stuff to ease the process for us.

By The Way…. I LOVE this thread!

Hi!

I am Soon2bMrsBrown. Me and my FH are getting married July 9, 2011. This is my first and I’m very excited.

So far I have a venue, photographer, BMs picked their dresses, my dress, reviewed tuxes with the vendor and florist.  I think the most stressful part for me is creating my guest list! We’re having about 200 to 225.  My colors are aqua, ivory, champagne, gold.
