@Miss Tattoo:

I know this thread is old but I always thought you were Asian for some reason.  🙂  I’m half Asian (Korean) and I have no idea why I thought that!  One of my really good friends is AA and her husband is Irish and they are a wonderful couple and their children are all gorgeous!  (They all have Irish names also).  I always love reading your comments and just had to add to this!  It’s so funny what you picture someone to look like based on anything…their name, their views, etc…  Oh, and then when I read the title, I thought “AA” mean Alcoholics Anonymous!

And…your wedding plans sound wonderful!  When I was married (ages ago) we had about 60 people and did everything ourselves. I was asking my husband tonight what we even had for food since my mother did it all.  We had our friend buy our cake as a gift (she insisted and it was probably $50…totally not a traditional cake…nautical themed wedding with a boat on top..yes, tacky and I regret it).  No dancing (even though I used to be a dancer b/c hubby and I are somewhat shy (just intimate things in front of others…I mean dancing, kissing, holding hands) or music.  But, I’ve had lots of people say it was one of their favorites b/c it was low key, although I do wish I had a bit more of a budget to do a few things differently.  Anyways…just wanted to share my experience and having a smaller, DIY wedding is a fantastic idea!

Oh yeah, and my friend’s originally from PA also!

Hi Ladies,

I reside in South Florida. We will be getting married 10 minutes from our home in Boca Raton at the beautiful Library on the lakeside patio. About 85 guest most from out of town. I’m 25 orginally from Metro Detroit. When to undergrad and Grad school in Michigan met my future hubby on Spring Break in South Beack I know it’s crazy right? Moved to South Florida 6 months after and here we are coming up on 4 years in April. My Fiance is a Army Vet currently working on this MBA he’s from all over the US but when I met him he was living here.

Our theme is all things spring/modern/but timeless. Since we met in the spring I want to incorporate that. So our colors are bright yellow, ivory and accent of cherry red.

Basically, we are HUGE partiers so we want our wedding to be fun but classy. Check out our venue!

Hey Ladies,

I’ve been on WB for a while but didn’t catch the AA board until today!!!  We are jumping the broom in 72 DAYS!!  I’m so excited.  Our wedding is at our church and the reception in a nice ballroom close by in Indianapolis.  Everyone on this site seems to be on the east or west coast – no love for the Midwesters…

I have been DIY’ing everything.  I love it and it is saving us so much money.  I am so glad I started early and joined this board.  Everyone on here is so creative.  Our colors are eggplant/silver/ivory.  We’ve got all the major things taken care of or it is under way.  I am starting the invitations next week.. all my paper is here and i’m going to try out the famous Gocco!  Wish me luck.

We are planning for 225 people and sticking to it (because thats all the centerpieces that i bought)  lol… the ceremony is open to all….

Congratulations to everyone and i hope you all aren’t stressing the small stuff.  Enjoy it… it only happens one time.   i am stressing about that hair.. thanks for the link…

@askewd1: Open to all? You are a brave brave woman. I told my relatives, no one should come without invites or else I’d have all the Africans in a 10mile radius at my wedding… trust me, they’d come 🙁

@bRooklynRocks:hahahaha!  that’s so funny…becuase I can relate.  I’m puertorican engaged to a Somali.  After I told his mom our guest list will be no more than 60 pp, his mom told me good luck because Somalis have a habit of just showing up to weddings.  great…thanks for the support MIL!  That is NOT happening BTW!

@bRooklynRocks the wedding is open to all but RSVPs are necessary for the reception.  It’s funny.  I have nice hostesses for the wedding and the mean hostesses posted at the reception.. LOL.

@ Miss Tattoo – i have a few DIYs posted, need to remember to take pics of stuff…
