@crebre80: I’d love to have the link to your blog as well. I really want to make my own fascinator but am not 100% sure on how to go about it.

@souliganprincess: I’m loving that dress on you! Its gorgeous!!

@tootietoo2: I haven’t seen anything like my dress on WB yet either but I posted it some weeks back. Mine is a more untraditional wedding dress and I love it. I’m pretty sure I’m not going to start a trend 🙂

@Cheeks11: I am a wedding coordinator (whew).  I have hired someone to direct the day of.  I will have all of her instructions in a manual.  The majority of the people at the wedding are friends of my parents.  You name the board, organization, sorority, social club they are or have been members!

I can say my wedding has come together nicely considering how busy I have been with other people’s weddings.  I have been able to DIY some things.  I have done the restroom baskets, program mockup, tear of joy pocket tissues and put rhinestones on everything else!!

@tootietoo2:  That is what happened to me.  My parents and fiance invited all of those people.  I think I have 20 people on the list.  I tried to put my foot down, but daddy is paying Laughing

Hi Everyone! My name is Alexis and I’m a HALF African American Bride to be from Philadelphia! I’m getting married April Fools Day 2011 in Lancaster PA! Here is my dress below.

My only isue is… what am I to do with my HAIR? All of my bridesmaids and friends are white and have tried to suggest styles.. but my hair can not always work the way theirs does. Any AA brides have pics of their hairstyles for the big day?! 🙂

Thanks for the African American Hairstyles Miss Tattoo!! Awesome!

My hair is more like Dominican hair I guess you would say. It is really thick and curly (Scary Spice x’s 8) lol. I did not get my mom’s hair at all though. My mom is white and my dad is black. I deff want to wear a long veil but switch to a flower in my hair for the reception. I’m not a fan of having all my hair pulled back in a bun or anything. Would like it long and flowing but a half up do with a side sweep bang.

Anyone have any pictures of how they are going to do their hair?? AA Brides? 🙂

I’d love to get my hair or put in a weave and somehow create one of these styles…

Hi, I am Chocolate Delight from the Dallas metro area.   In honor of our 15th wedding anniversary, my husband and I will be renewing our vows on 11-27-10 (next month).  My colors are various shades of blue, white, silver and fuschia.   To date, I have not done any DIY projects because I don’t have the time or skill.  So my DIY accomplishments are buying other people’s DIY goodies.   As for the guest list, we are trying to keep it at 250, but it seems we are going to have close to 280-300 guests.

As for hairstyle, I am going to be rocking a short pixie cut.    My dress is Priscilla of Boston Style Jules.   Below is a horrible picture of me at my first dress fitting.  I need to lose about 5 more pounds to get the fit that I want.   I am not sure that I will be wearing a veil because I plan on wearing the collars on my dress up and I think a veil may conflict with the collar.   What do you ladies think?  By The Way, I go for my next dress fitting on 10/22/10, so wish me luck.

As for make-up, I have hired a professional make-up artist to do airbrush make-up for me and my bridesmaids on the day o fmy vow renewal.

@Crebre – Congratulations are in order.  I haven’t been on the board lately, so I did not know that you had pushed your wedding date up.   So, what dress did you finally decide to wear because I know at one point you were flirting with the Style Jules as well.

In closing, I want to congratulate all of you and note that all of your ideas, pictures and stories are beautiful.   Keep up the good work and happy planning.  I don’t get a chance to get on the board often, but I try to lurk once in a while.  So if you need to reach me, just PM me.

The dresses you have posted are all so pretty. @ Chocolate Delight, your dress is very unique. I love my dress too, so I figured I’d post it…:)

The manufacturer went bankrupt AFTER I ordered it, but the store sold me the sample I tried on. So I got my dress AND a fat discount!! YEAH

Thanks!!! It is more formal than I was looking for, but I feel in love with it. My Maid/Matron of Honor found it and made me try it on. LOL
