I decided to relaxed my hair 6 wks prior to the wedding because I wanted a hair change.(Prior 10yrs natural)   If you want to keep your natural hair, I would look into having a weave for your wedding.

@Mz Izzie:  Do you LOVE your natural hair?  I only ask this because not only should you be thinking about your wedding hairstyle… but also think about how you’ll feel about being relaxed after the wedding….

I too am natural (2 years and 5 days Smile) and I would never relax my hair again.  Not even for my wedding.

So I agree with @squeak35… You should probably go with a full head sew in.  They are beautiful and look very natural if you get the right person to do it.

Good luck…. Oh and I sent you a PM of a very good website with full sew in photos.

i am always a fan of wearing braids! i switch up between wearing my hair relaxed and braided and find that it helps my hair alot (from damage and whatnot).

i know i am getting braids, but am trying to figure out what to do with it 🙂 personally, i am not a fan of weaves, but to each their own 🙂

Am I missing something?  Why can’t you wear a veil with natural hair?  I would think a veil attached with a comb would work perfectly!

DO NOT relax your hair for your wedding UNLESS you wanted to relax it for other reasons.  When you relax you can’t go back (which I’m sure you know).  There are a ton of natural hair styles, I had similiar issues until I found THE ONE, which made me happy.  I really wanted an updo but couldn’t find one I liked with my hair texture.  You can always flat iron it if you want your hair to be straighter.  If you want to loosen your curl you can curl your hair with a flat iron or just with curlers.  You should check my pinterest site (www.pinterest.com/toyyap/hair) it will give you the pics I liked as well as some websites (if you click on a pic you like 2x).  Below is the hair I decided on

Don’t relax your hair unless you know you’ll still be happy with it after the wedding.  I’m about 2 months away from my 3yr mark of being natural and I will never relax again!  LoL.  I had lots of bad experiences with relaxers, but everyone is different.  Have you ever had your hair blown out and pressed/flat ironed?  I do that every 4 or 5 months to change it up.. and my hair gets just as straight as it was when I had a relaxer, but it’s 2x as bouncy and shiny!  My hair is soooo much healthier without the chemicals.

And like others have stated, a sew-in weave is also an option.  I had one (with the front section of my own hair out) for my engagement pics:
