@Rachel631:  Oh no!!  That sucks =(  You are so nice for going back to find a color that will be more flattering on her though!

@Rachel631:  SAD!  Could you play with shades of royal blue?  Or maybe if that’s too bright, could you do navy blue?  I ended up with my bridesmaids in Cobalt Blue with a navy blue sash for a little contrast, here’s a photo if it helps any:

@Rachel631:  Ahh! What a good bride you are. 🙂 I had a similar issue.. I was interested in light teal/aqua, then light green (celery)… until one of my paler bridesmaids tried on a light green dress.. NO WAY!

So we stumbled upon a dress that they loved, and it happened to be in a bright deep blue (“peacock”) that somehow looked great on all of them… totally not the color I was thinking of, but I’d rather my girls look great and feel beautiful! Haha.

Best of luck to you!!

What if you chose several colors? The bridesmaids could wear two slightly different shades of the same color (maybe one could wear the original blue, the other could wear a lighter or darker shade of blue) and could pull together the look by wearing shoes of the same color, carrying bouquets of matching flowers, wearing statement necklaces in the same color, etc.? I had 6 bridesmaids, and they chose 3 colors of dresses. It turned out really lovely:

@Rachel631:   Hang in there….. eventually at some point you might have to be the bridezilla, put your foot down and say – this is it.

I tried to do the same thing you ddi – find this reddish-wine shade that is light enough its still sprign appropriate – and most girls look good in jewel tones right?

I gave them an anonymous vote for what dress styles they liked (out of 10) then narrowed it to 1 designer but 4 styles – then when they bothered to try them on  found out the dress cost more than expected in another city – so we switched designers to someone with a similar shade.

Eventually I said – we have two weeks to order before being hit with rush fees, which I willnot pay for you- as it had been going on for SIX months. yes SIX.

Amazingly, all those dressed got tried on and ordered in a week.

@Mrs. Wallaby:  Do you mind sharing the designer and color names of your dresses? I love them!

@sunshinebee:  Sure! The green and gray dresses are both J. Crew bridesmaid dresses (J. Crew Arabelle, J. Crew Louisa, and J. Crew Macie) and the blush dresses are a different designer, I can’t remember her name – but my SILs are selling them, both size 4, so PM me know if you’re interested!
