Abs are made in the kitchen!

A clean diet (no processed foods, refined sugars, simple carbs, etc) combined with weightlifting (to build lean mass which will turn up your metabolism) and keeping up your solid cardio routine is the best recipe for getting those abs!

@mk0589:  For me, the best ab workouts are planking and russian twists (with your legs up and bent 90 degrees).

@leahthehun:  yesss. Russian twists. I’ve been altermating with 5-10 lb weights. It’s been helping tons! I’m actually trying to lose a good 45lbs, but every other day that I do the twists, I can definitely feel that more than anything.

@mk0589:  I’ve been doing research and am no where near having abs, but I agree with planks, Twists, and all those variations of crunches, bicycle kicks. I googled the p90x ab workout and I do some of those on my own at the gym. I don’t really know what works personally, like I said, but I hope you get your abs!

Muscles need to be worked in symmetry.

Try a roll-up. It’s much more difficult and much more effective than abdominal crunches. If you’re not used to a roll-up, start small by using a towel to put underneath your lower back and a stretchy band.

I agree with @DaneLady:, abs are made in the kitchen. Try cutting out carbs and processed foods.

TRX bands are great for core excercises. Also, there are a lot of core excercises in an Insanity class. Try some power yoga too.

Pilates! Buy a DVD or find a workout online. You’ll notice a difference in your abs after like 2 days.

Definitely try Pilates, but please be mindful of your posture. It’s important to warm up with breathing exercises before and cool down with stretches and breathing after. 🙂
