Just curious on what the average is. I don’t want to spend too little but I also don’t want to go overboard. Also, what did you get them?

I spent about $200 but I only had 3 girls and their dresses were about that much so I felt it was appropriate…plus I just kept finding little things I wanted to add to their bags! I got them robes in their favorite colors, hangers w/ their names on it (both more for me and my pix than them lol), a Birchbox subscription, a diamond candle, a B&BW cosmetic bag filled w/ lotions and stuff…and a couple other little thingies I think…the Birchbox and the robes were the bigger expensive items. They all LOVE the Birchbox subscription btw, it’s only $10/month and you can pick how many months you gift!
I only have two girls but money is super tight (we’re struggling with a mortgage and bills that were based on an income I no longer make after getting laid off from a 10 year career and not being able to find comparable income at any other job) so I know they aren’t expecting anything extravagant.
I bought them each a beautiful sterling silver crystal covered bracelet to wear on the wedding date as well as handmade embroidered handkerchiefs. I also am gifting photo frames and handkerchiefs to my two other close friends who aren’t in the wedding party but have been really supportive and are part of the ceremony. One of them I’m also paying for his suit rental because he’s also the MC at our reception AND singing my first dance and didn’t have anything he felt comfortable to wear.
All in all, I’ve spent probably close to $300 on those gifts, not including the gifts for groomsmen and parents.
I only spent around $50 on the gifts for my bridesmaids. I bought them each a bracelet and a set of lotion, body wash, and body spray from bath and body works.
I spent about $500. I have 7 BMs and 1 junior Bridesmaid or Best Man. The only reason I was able to spend what I did is because I used part of my tax return!
@s2bmrscook: $500 total? Or $500 on each?
Im crazy and am starting to pick some stuff up early. Im planning on possibly doing a “bridesmaid survival kit”. I went to a warehouse sale & got a smashbox makeup set (it’s thing like travel size makeup but I thought it was cute and a good deal). And I got them all different coach clutches (or really wristlets I think is the more accurate word) bc I had a $100 off of $300. I spent a little more on my Maid/Matron of Honor clutch. So, so far I probably spent like $300 total and I have 4 girls. i wanted to do a necklace or earrings they can wear the day of but I didn’t know if i should or what to get exactly.
@s2bmrscook: That’s not bad at all, considering you had 8 people to buy for!
@s2bmrscook: Very nice. What type of stuff did you get them, if you don’t mind me asking.
@FoxyBride14: I got them all the same things. Each girl is getting: a tote bag, a tumbler with her name and “bridesmaid” on it, a bottle of nail polish, earrings, a hankie that’s embroidered with “No ugly crying”, and a pair of flip flops 🙂
I like those tumblers! I’m a teacher and have a senior homeroom and I actually bought my homeroom tumblers similar as their graduation gifts! They all loved them. I’m sure your girls will as well! Did you get them custom made?
About $100 each so far.
I will probably go for a bit more and get them some day of treats in addition to personal gifts. Maybe some cute little robes. I’m the type to not spend so much usually, but…
MOH- bestie for years, is really touched by thoughtful gifts. I know that it would be appreciated and make him so happy. I think some kind of scotch set with a nice bottle. He likes scotch.
Bridesmaid or Best Man 1- Very sheltered little sister. Doesn’t have much, doesn’t get fancy things. We’re very close and I just want to give her something beautiful. She’s the one that gets to hear me babble on and on about wedding stuff and get dragged on shopping trips. Sapphire earrings for her.
Bridesmaid or Best Man 2- is not only travelling to frigging Mexico on a student budget, but is ALSO doing a Vegas trip with me. I know money is tight but she insisted! I can hardly wait. She also mailed me an awesome planning book from another province, and has been very involved despite being very busy and living in another city. I really want her to know how much I appreciate all of it. I don’t know what I will get her yet, but I’m thinking jewellery.
I can afford it, and really want to… So that’s what I will do!
I have 5 bridesmaids and i have spent £100 each on them.
Thats for a dress for 4 and a suit for 1 (coz she’s gay and looks weird and uncomfortable in a dress) hats shoes and necklaces.
