This past weekend my Maid/Matron of Honor, BMs, Mom, and Stepmom threw me an amazingly fun and beautiful shower. It was kept a surprise from me (aside from date and time, and incredible considering Maid/Matron of Honor lives with me!), so I had no idea where we were going when Bridesmaid or Best Man K picked me up from the salon whee I had just had my hair and makeup trial done! We swung through the Mc-drive through to burn a few minutes with a shake and fries 🙂 before heading to Providence. Once we were in the city, we had the same problem a lot of the guests had: finding the place! This was especially difficult, because K refused to tell me where we wee going. After a few circles, we parked and made our way over to one of my favorite restaurants: Jacky’s Galaxie! You’re saying “But, Ms Repost, if its your favorite place, why didn’t you immediately know where you were headed?!?!” Because, it’s a location of JG I hadn’t been to before- right on the Woonasquatucket River at Waterplace Park in downtown Providence 🙂 It was gorgeous – very sophisticated decor with huge windows and even an outdoor patio! When I walked in, I felt like a million bucks! i had to walk through most of the restaurant to get to my spot at the back, and there were already a bunch of people there! My Maid/Matron of Honor was beaming at me, along with all my BMs and my stepmom and a few others! Within a few minutes of my arrival, Maid/Matron of Honor handed me a GIANT painted wine glass which read “For the BIG day, have a BIG glass!” (or something like that), filled with wine of course!Where’s MY mom i wondered? Moments later, she called and was LOST. Oh No! 20 minutes went b, and here she was! The party was ready to really get rolling 🙂
Maid/Matron of Honor had ordered a buffet of all our JG favorites: Pad Thai, spicy basil green beans, crab rangoon, beef teriyaki, pot stickers, and nime chow! AMAZING!!! Bridesmaid or Best Man J, a baker, made a fabulous cupcake tower, based off an inspiration pic Maid/Matron of Honor had sent to her- red velvet cupcakes with GODIVA liqueur white chocolate frosting! I was quickly advised that I could potentially become inebriated if I ate enough frosting – WHAT?!!?! Atop the tiny cakes were custom fortune cookies dipped in white chocolate!
From where our party was situated, we could see the sushi bar – tempting- and all the chefs- they laughed along with us as we got going. Mr Repost and I had filled out a questionnaire for this “He said, She said” game, and the results were hilarious! guests also played a game of purse scavenger hunt, guessed the number of ring pops in a giant bowl, and had a grand old time 🙂

When everyone was finishing up eating, Maid/Matron of Honor gathered people up, Bridesmaid or Best Man M took a seat by my side to take notes, and the gift-stravaganza began!
Now, I may have forgotten to mention how nervous I get in front of groups – Thanks Maid/Matron of Honor for the liquid courage 😉 After opening quite a few gifts, I moved on to the huge stack of cards – even some people who couldn’t come sent cards and gifts – wow how thoughtful!
When people started to get going, and Mr Repost had his car all loaded up, I was still on cloud nine! Maid/Matron of Honor and BMan J and I stuck around on the patio late into the night, drinking cosmos and eating more high-fat food 🙂 It was a fantastic day, I got to see alot of people I don’t see often, and I was really thrilled and impressed with what Maid/Matron of Honor and the rest of the ladies had put together for me.
Me and all my ladies… and my Bridesman too!

One side note: I had been registry-stalking, and not much seemed to have been purchased. I did get a lot of gifts off my registry though, it seems most of the stuff didn’t get taken off the lists 🙂 So, if you’re a stalker like me, don’t fret! People ARE coming to your shower!
