I was only there for a day (cruise ship), but Darling Husband and I went swimming with stingrays in Antigua and it was AMAZING.

We are going to Barbados and then Sandals Grand St. Lucian. We really liked a lot of things about St. Lucia and the Grande St. Lucian’s supposed to be the best of the Sandals resorts there. We also fell in love with the rooms there that they call rondovals. They are little bungalows with their own private outside area with plunge pool, outdoor shower and hot tub just steps from the beach. It’s crazy expensive, but once we saw them we had to stay there.
In Barbados we’re staying at this little boutique hotel called The Little Arches. While we’re there we’re going to swim with Sea turtles :-). Both islands are also supposed to be pretty nice and not the same issues with begging and poverty that I saw in Nassau, Bahamas.  I know it’s terrible to say, I just had such a hard time with little kids swarming me for money and wanting to braid my hair, etc.

You need to look at the activities that they offer at each of those places to see where you may want to go. I have heard all those places are very nice, though, so whichever place you go to I am sure will be nice. and dont’ worry you will not be out of place at the all inclusive! you will be so happy in love with your husband and happy to get away from Ohio at that time of year.

Fiance and I went to Sandals Antigua last May and LOVED it!!!! The restaurants and food was excellent. Our favorite restaurant was Barefoot by the Sea. It was beautiful at night(fire pits) and beach/ocean front. There was a lot to do on the resort and we went off the resort to do ziplining. We really enjoyed ourselves while we were there and it was VERY romantic. As far as the people go there is a mixture.  And no not everyone is a size 2. lol. It’s a adult couples resort which was nice.

Review–Sandals La Toc/Regency St. Lucia (long)

I posted this about St Lucia. All these islands are really poor, so anything you see outside the resort may bother you. We met a couple on their 10th anniversary, they seem to go somewhere every year and they liked the Sandals in Negril the best. We might try it next year–cheaper than St Lucia.

I’ve to 2 out of 3.  I would choose Antigua before Jamaica.  I just wasn’t impressed personally.  I’ve always wanted to go to St Lucia and hope to go in the next 5 yrs.

When I travel, I tend to hang w/ the locals.  Cause I really want to see how everyone lives in Our World.  So, if you don’t want to see abject proverty really check out Frommer’s and Fodor’s for insight on what each island is like.  Being on the resort is one thing but if you want to do some sightseeing and really seeing the island, do some Googling.

Good Luck!!!

Jamaica is AMAING!! i know you arent keen on the idea but seriously it was the best vacation i have ever been on. My husband and i have taken a few trips prior to our honeymoon we have been to key west, miami, bahamas and cozumel and so far jamaica has been my favorite – the water is so clear and so calm, the people are so friendly, the rum and redstripe is never ending haha.

We stayed at Couples Swept Away in Negril and i seriously could not say enough good things about them..the food was great, i never felt like it was crowded, the scenery is beautiful you have the tropical aspect and the jungle aspect all in one. plus getting there was a breeze
