Did anyone get their accessories, especially veil, before they had their dress? My dress isn’t arriving a month before my wedding which doesn’t leave me too much time. I’m thinking of having a veil made. Do you think I should have the dress first to make sure the color and lace matches, or is it risky to leave it to the last minute?

depends on how picky you are, if youre matchy-matchy then i’d wait. if youre more laid back you can take a picture of your dress in when looking for a veil.

I had all my accessories before my dress came in (but after it was ordered), so when I went to try it on the first time I brought everything with me to see it all together.

I bought the accessories before I bought the dress! Haha…Really it depends on how much you want the accessories to reflect your dress colors and style. I knew that i would end up ordering an ivory dress (I had been trying on dresses, just hadn’t bought one yet) so I got some things custom made my Lulu Splendor on etsy which would look good with ivory. Since I have neither the jewelery nor the dress in my possession yet (both are ordered and paid for, but still in production), I have no idea how they’ll look, but the pictures seem to look awesome side-by-side! 🙂

I think jewelry you can do but for something like a veil I personally would wait. I’m really anal and it would drive me NUTS if the veil and the dress didn’t match. My dress is ivory lace so it’s harder to match since there are a lot of different types of ivory. If it was diamond white or something I think I’d probably be OK with getting the veil without the dress.

I had all my accessories before my dress, but at the last minute I realized I needed a different bracelet because the one I got just was not working. I guess it was sort of the risk of doing everything ahead of time. Once I put the whole outfit together I realized the original bracelet had. to. go!

I say, if you know what your dress looks like, go for it! I wouldn’t have bought my accessories before I had picked out a dress. Neckline, beading, pearls, etc. to me totally determine what kind of jewelry I’d wear.

I didn’t actually buy my accessories until after I picked my dress. I wanted to see how they looked with the dress. In fact, I had been planning on wearing a necklace, but when I put it on with my dress, i changed my mind.

My dress is supposed to come in three months before my wedding, but I would still like to get some stuff before. Im hoping to get my shoes and jewelry before. Im waiting to get the veil and hair piece until the dress comes in though
