- Wedding: September 2013
Hi! First time poster here! So, I just purchased my dress for my outdoor, woodsy, mountain wedding, in Sept. 2013, and I am trying to figure out the best ways to accessorize it, or to ‘dress up’ the dress. Right now, I feel like it is a bit plain, although that is also one of the reasons why I like it…but I do feel like it just needs a little ‘something’!
The dress has not been altered at all yet, and I am for sure planning to have the straps shortened to fit my 5’1″ frame. I am also considering putting in a corset closure in the back rather than the zipper that is there now — any thoughts on how a corset closure would look on a dress like this? What do you think of the zipper that is there now? Please pardon the poor choice of bra for trying on dresses (and back cleavage! ha!).
Also, since it is tea-length, I am planning to wear a funky pair of shoes — but they can’t be too tall or anything because of the small hill that I will have to go over to walk down the aisle. Basically, flats are my option for shoes, which is kind of a bummer because I can use all the height I can get. I will probably find another dressier pair to wear for the reception, which is indoors. Any ideas on super cute wedding-type flats?
Finally, I am considering a blusher type of veil with probably a sparkly headband or something. Would this look ok with this style of dress?
I scoured the web to try to find this dress on someone (other than me!) but it was to no avail, so I have no idea on what others have done to rock this dress. Please help!!
