So I’m having trouble visualizing my complete wedding day look. My dress is pretty simple (no beading or embellishments). Seen here, and yes that’s my adorable mommy!
Don’t get me wrong, I love it! Particulary what it does to my backside…
But I totally chose it for how it made my body look (especially my bottom), and I’m struggling with how to finish off the look (hair, makeup, accessories) to get it to more of the vintage look that the rest of the wedding is, as it is a thoroughly modern looking dress!
Help please! Part of the dilemma is that I haven’t totally set on a style/theme yet. The venues lend themselves to a number of different styles, and so whatever I choose will end up determining the rest of the day’s feel as well. (I’m an architect, slighty OCD, and over-analytical…bear with me!)
The church has a gorgeous, old art deco feel…
and the reception venue is a renovated home complete with original tin ceiling tiles…
Oh and we’re getting married in the evening with a later reception.
So to sum this up…I’m not sure whether to go with a more vintage homespun feel, a sophisticated art deco feel, or a more pop-y modern take on vintage (if that makes any sense)
Feel free to comment on any or all parts of this question/freak-out. But mainly your help on accessories and hair would be much appreciated! Much love bees!

Do you prefer your hair up or down? I am a big fan of the big, sexy waves…

I was leaning more towards hair down, but I was also thinking a loose up do, or maybe a sophisticated pony? My Fiance loves headbands on me. I love 40’s inspired hair though. So pretty! Love her makeup too! Thanks.

You really could go in a million directions with your gown (which is beautiful on you!)
Would you be interested in adding sparkle to yourself with jewelry? Or maybe keep it classy with pearls?
If I were you, I’d start browsing pictures and try to collect images you like and see if a theme emerges

Most def a birdcage veil or a nice headband (kinda chunky), some red lips, and either a bun or soft waves for your hair. You can add bling with your jewelry (a nice pair of chandeliers and a bracelet). I think that all can make it vintage.

I rarely comment on all the dress posts, but dress is BEAUTIFUL on you. Like perfect! I think your hair is the perfect length to do a half up, or side pony. I would do some big detailed jewelry 🙂

i say hair down and wavy! some nice drop earrings and a pendant necklace…. maybe a chunky bracelet and a flower for your hair!

I think something like this would look great in your hair (up or down)
And then maybe something like this for your wrist

Thanks for all the comments ladies, so encouraging!

Based on the ceremony venue I would get a long cathedral veil

Art deco Art deco! I think go for a nice vintage looking hairstyle like posted above, and something in your hair too. I LOVE the hairband posted above but I think you could go with something more Deco/vintage looking.
Having said that I tried on some earrings similar to those posted with my dress, and I felt liek I was playing dress up, possibly because im quite young?!
I’ve gone for large pearl studs instead. My best advice, would be take a load of stuff with you to the store, headbands, clips, braclets necklaces of different size sna dlengths, even if tehy arent fancy or bridal looking, and try it all on with your dress, mixing and matching as you go. then you’ll know what to look for. For example I started out wanting big earrings, no necklace and a braclet, but I tried it on and it didnt look right. so now im going with statement necklace, small earrings and a head band!

I think hair down in soft lovely waves with lovely dangling chandelier diamond earrings will look perfect with your dress. I also love some of the bracelet pictures showased here and so you should definitely add some bling to your outfit considering it doesnt have any embellishments on it..best of luck with everything.. 🙂
