This was a great update. Also from all i’ve evr learned in school is that HIV is a very delicate virus. More than half the reason they have an issue finding a cure or making a vaccine (it dies in labs when they try to replicate it). I was actually thinking about you the other day at work while dealing with blood specimens etc. Fingers are still so crossed but I know you will be just fine 🙂 You’ve done the best thing which is to take the medication.

Bee – keep strong! Hopefully, in a few days, you can put this behind you. Thinking of you and keeping everything crossed.

keikochan :  How’s it going? Thinking of you <3 When I got tested for HIV independent of my physicals, they were able to give me results on the spot because I went to a sexual health clinic … not sure if this is an option for you. I’m sure you have it all figured out.

I had unprotected sex with a guy, and had to get myself tested later. I didnt tell anyone about it and getting through it alone was tough. The worst part is the night before I got my test results, I was watching HBO movies with my family and Tom Hanks’ Philadelphia just happened to be showing. Possibly the universe putting me through the wringer to make me feel worse. Anyway turned out it was negative. LESSON LEARNED.

I get how hard this is and I hope you get similary good news. I really like what a PP said about living with it and managing it, not the ideal situation you want to think about, but trying to look on the brighter side while you wait. Just dont put netflix on, in case.

Love all the furry hugs the OP got on this thread.

keikochan :  My dear OP, you have my full support. I have a relative who also worked in health care.  HIV contaminated blood was also flicked into her eyes but none to the mouth. She also immediately rinsed her eyes and was worried just like you are today. Every thing turned out fine. She does nto have HIV. Let’s hope you have the same luck. Try to stay calm and positive.

May be take a piece of paper and start writing positive thoughts like: I will be OK. I am healthy. Every thing will turn out fine with the results. I know that I am free of HIV. I will be able to have children.

Keep writing positive stuff untill you start believing them. Also, visualize positive things. Imagine that you are hearing the results and they are negative.
