Omg! Some of these posters are so dang judgmental. Look OP, that dress is FREAKING STUNNING! I say rock it as is IF you are comfortable in it. Your wedding, your way.

I can’t believe how rude are some responses here.

Gorgeous dress, OP, hope you will manage to make it more ‘family appropriate’

testytesttest :  I would line everything except the sleeves. I would leave the open back because I love a nice open back, but line the rest. I would probably go for a light champagne, pale blush, or very light powder blue underneath to make the design stand out.

I think sleek hair would be great. Keep hair and jewelry simple.

Lots of judgmental comments. Also a lot of wedding dress designers and other designers for that matter deliberalety show their lacy dresses or clothing with little to no lining so the details stand out more on the runway and in photos. They don’t show it as ‘this is exactly what it will look like on you’. You should be able to order different color linings for a dress of that price, but you mentioned it was a sample so it probably just came as is. People who see photos like that and freak out don’t understand how the fashion industry works. I think it’s a gorgeous dress btw.

I say line the entire dress except for the sleeves and as long as your comfortable leave the deep v! You put it on, you felt fabulous and you your family thought so too, so you brought it.

Don’t go changing so much of it because other people haven’t accepted that women are allowed to have their sexuality. I get that the older generation gets a bit funny with these things but I bet in their heyday they were up to “no good” at times too – they just get much tamer in their old age (generally speaking)

And the back is incredible (it is a back what is so offensive about a back – I just don’t get it!?) Why would you cover that up? Wear long veil for the ceremony maybe?

Berta dresses are sexy that is the whole point – change too much and you may as well have just bought some other lace dress.

You’re not walking around naked! But that’s just me! Own your sexy, I’m sure you will look great!

Your dress looks fantastic.

People here judging op’s words, who cares if she accidentally or purposely bought the dress, it’s not really any of your business, it’s not really the point and does not really affect the question.

Its a hot dress.

I would probably line the body portion in white/off white and cover up half of the v neck. Leave the sleeves and the back.

testytesttest :  I say leave the cleavage, line the rest with nude. Ive seen plenty of wedding dresses on Pinterest with a deep V. You’ll be fine! 😉 It really is a beautiful dress!

I LOVE your dress! I wouldn’t change a thing, but (as a detail-oriented person) I totally understand wanting it exactly the way you envision/are most comfortable with. I agree with lining the dress, especially the front bodice, in white or blush.

I also agree with some other comments on here to keep jewelry and hair simple!

testytesttest :  I agree that dress appointments should be longer! I always felt the time crunch and was so nervous about spending too long in any one dress because then I might miss out on trying something else…

Anywho, I think your dress will be lovely with a lining (minus the sleeves, I would keep those sheer) and loved the idea for an optional overskirt for the ceremony, if you wanted. I don’t think it’s too revealing…but I’m also quite petite with barely any bust, so there wouldn’t be much to show! 🙂
