Based on what you said about your hemline, I have to wonder just what the heck they did to your dress?! Honestly, I’d either find another seamstress, or demand that they fix what they’ve done. That’s so strange!!! I’m so sorry hon, you don’t need this a few days before your wedding!!!

@jo.lee: i’ll tell you what – moms aren’t the best zipper-uppers! my mom could not for the life of her figure out how to zip my dress at the fittings – the consultant and alterations lady both tried teaching her too! we ended up having the seamstress resew the zipper in so that it wasn’t so close to the material, thus making it easier to zip. my advice is to make sure you have a strong armed bridesmaid lol. your dress zips, so you should still be good!

@jo.lee:

I’m so confused. The hem was messed up before but now it’s not?  The top is altered too much?  confused.

I had some major issues with my seamstress when I got married and the issues went right down to the wire but in the end it all worked out.  It’s unfortunate that these things go wrong so close to the wedding day!  Don’t stress though, if the seamstress was able to zip it, someone who’s with you on your wedding day will get it zipped even if Mom can’t do it.  Congratulations on loosing 20lbs too!  That’s pretty great! The final week stresses will keep you skinny… there’s too much going on to gain weight.

That sucks.  I would never use that alteration place again.  I bet she was in a hurry so they could go to Florida.  On the bright side, the dress did zip up so you’ll be able to fit into it on wedding day.  Breathing is completely overrated & for sissies.  Ha!  Hope your diet goes well and you can breathe in 4 DAYS on your wedding day!

@jo.lee:The dress whisperer. . . . Best thing I’ve heard all day.  I’m going to call my seamstress the Dress Jesus because my dress actuallly fits and she had to hem it like a foot.

I hope your best friend has better luck.  Maybe she’ll take her time with hers.

@elliestan: This is so true! I went this weekend to find a sash and my mom couldn’t get my dress zipped up! I was having a panic attack thinking that I’d gained weight! But the consultant just zipped it right up!
