So I love to read. I have a goodreads account because its a great place to get recommendations from my friends, and keep track of good (and bad) books I’ve read. I’m friends with my mother, family members, co-workers, college friends, everyone. Typically my reading choices are pretty tame, and not at all embarrassing.
A while ago, I was looking for a light read, and somehow stumbled on a very, VERY ridiculous bodice ripper. It was a series and each book was like $2 dollars. It essentially one step above porn. Maybe it is porn. I don’t know. Its close. And its not just any porn, but, of course, its blue alien porn. And the naked blue aliens with muscled chests and human women with heaving bosoms are featured PROMINENTLY on ALL of the covers. So that anyone who looks at it knows that you are reading something super weird and kinky. For some reason I got suuper into this weird series. Ok, I know I know. But its ok. I put all the filters on my family library, made it so only I could see it, joked about it with my hubby, and enjoyed my guilty pleasure. What can I say, I was having a rough week? I am now done my ridiculous books (of which there are many), and I go to my goodreads feed to look for another book to start.
The thing is, I forgot to disconnect my kindle from my goodreads app. Its typically not a problem, as I don’t usually read absolute smut. I look down the feed of my friends and family, and look, there’s a blue alien cover stating that pussinboots07 started reading it yesterday. Oh, and another and another and another. Its an endless supply of heaving, boutiful breasts and blue aliens for my grandma, my coworkers, everyone to see! Everyone can see that I’ve been spending the last week reading what essentially amounts to super weird, super creepy blue alien smut! And at a fast clip too! Hurrah!
So yea, I deleted that sh*t, and am hoping no one saw. I don’t mind a close girlfriend seeing, but definately not something I would want to share with my former boss. I’m just sitting here chuckling to myself and mildly mortified. Anyone else accidently overshare thanks to technology? Also, anyone know how to disconnect the goodreads app from a kindle account. J/k
